Villarreal coming out hot against Madrid. Hopefully we get a good match here.

Deschamps extended his France contract to June 2026. Isn’t that like halfway through the WC?

Roberto Martinez is taking over Portugal, too, apparently.

I mean, Shearer won the league so at least he has a trophy.

This Burnley vs. Bournemouth FA Cup tie is wild. 4-2 Burnley as it stands.

Villarreal only being up 1-0 despite probably deserving a 3-0 or 4-0 means Madrid are winning this like 4-1 somehow

And just like that Madrid get a dubious af penalty.

The Villarreal get a PK right back. Crazy few minutes.

On almost as wild of a call, at least. I set my phone down to fold laundry and just stood there, eyebrows pinched, holding a pair of pants haha

Zack steffen looks not good. Wild that he was assuredly going to the World Cup this time last year for the US.

Destroyed Rotherham today, finally won in the 3rd round for the first time in about a million years.

If you go by his FotMob rating (yes subjective I know), he had a decent run of games rating wise since coming back from the break. Before that though, he was absolute shit so seems like he is regressing back.

I think since Carrick took over, Middlesbrough have been playing to Steffans strengths a lot more, playing out from the back etc., and it's helped him. Today seems like a bad day at the office for Boro in general, they're focussing on the League, so I don't know how much to read into today.

    Wrexham up 2-0 at Coventry.

    hmmm

Next documentary series is going to be pretty wild when Wrexham win the FA Cup.

    United signing Wout Weghorst apparently.

If that doesn't illustrate their financial situation to people, nothing will.

Ah, I see that even with new owners and money, Newcastle are maintaining their FA cup traditions.

    (of being shite)

Chris Wood should walk home after that. What an appalling waste.

Ironically, that quote actually gives credence to the move. Weghorst might be many things, but he's definitely a big personality

Edit - just to add to this, I haven't watched loads of him, but apparently he ranks highly in the amount of pressures per 90 for forwards. If that's the case, a pressing forward that can hold the ball up and be a focal point, is about the best we can hope for. United can get goals from elsewhere and the pressing would help the team as much as the few goals he might score over the 6 months.
