If Jenkins goes back to making good movies after The Lion King then it is less depressing.

I liked Avatar 2 better than the second film, but it isn't near the level of his best work.

 

All of Cameron’s movies are extremely trope-heavy blockbusters that are technological masterpieces. If he wasn’t making more Avatar movies then he’d just be making what is essentially the same thing and receive the same exact complaints, just in a different fictional setting

 

Of course not. His best work will be "Avatar 4: The Tulkun Rider"

 

Yeah he's already said that he's saving the best for last, so....

 

I hope humans at least get more screen time in the sequels, I get too fatigued from all the characters being blue and CG. Like Kate Winslet was in the sequel and I didn't even notice.

I guess the fire flavor of Na'vi will extend the color palette at least.

 

I'd argue The Way of Water measures up to Aliens, Terminator 2, Titanic. It's pretty masterful imo

 

You’d put the screenplay up against those others? It’s a technical masterpiece but the dialogue is so cheesy.

 

Titanic is cheesy as fuck and I love Aliens but it’s also cheesy as fuck at times.

 

Mostly didn't bother me this time

To be fair, dialogue has never been this guy's strong suit. In any of his movies. It's all over the top and aimed at as universal an audience as possible

I don't think they'll be red or anything like that. I'm guessing super desaturated blue, like actual ash

 

Btw, this might sound kind of crazy…but when they return to Earth in the later films, do you think the Navi will have to use “human avatars”? Essentially with the actors appearing as themselves in Earth.

Kind of a wild idea. Hope not

Opens up the minefield of which "race" a Na'vi's human body would be. RDA made avatars using the DNA of the local population, which seemed fairly homogenous. Just throwing the actual actors in there could be, uh, a problem

 

If he uses real human actors at least he won’t have to wait for the technology to be there

 

I hope the poster of Avatar 5 is Jake Sully (in his proper Na’vi form) with a gun in front of the White House.

 

He will have to wait for the de-aging tech on signorney weaver to be good enough.

 

How dare you suggest imprisoning magical girl Kiri Sully into a human shell.

the na'vi would either have a hazmat suit or a Flaming Lips bubble it's just science

 

Humans kidnapping Navi and bringing them back to earth sounds like a great plot for Avatar 9
