Didn’t like Mania either. It’s not offensively bad but it does nothing for me—even the songs people are citing here as the better ones. I just think they’re doing too much and it’s over produced; they could use a return to form.

 

i think everyone here knows what folks mean when they say “bring back the guitars” lol

 

definitely not the only one. maybe we’re in the minority on this site but almost every single fob fan i know IRL ranks it as their worst record and it’s not particularly close

 

Also the fact that Save Rock and Roll will already be 10 years old this year....fuck.

I've never seen anyone rank Mania under Evening Out. And that is not a cue to start ranking

 

Evening Out is like the album you'd get from a VFW show from the bands van....and I'm always here for it lol

 

Never see anyone really count it lol

 

Evening Out is like the self-titled Jimmy Eat World before Static Prevails. Nobody actually remembers it exists.

 

Guess we have universal consensus on the real worst Fall Out Boy record then.

 

besides those of us who own a physical copy of it. I don't even remember how I even got one lol

 

Evening out is interesting for me bc when I got into TTTYG, the only releases to go back to were evening out and the project rocket split. And then eventually the my heart will always be ep. I’ve listened to evening out and that split a lot bc of it. I know they aren’t “good” releases but they hold a special place for me and seeing the band play in small Cleveland clubs opening for touring bands that eventually faded.

 

I actually really like the My Heart EP.

 

I think most fans probably like that ep. The dvd was fun to watch too.

 

This just made me think of Release the Bats

I think I've seen the exact opposite, people almost always get bothered when albums they like get (unfairly) maligned. In every thread, for the entire history of the internet.
