They could've done it saturday, or play it at night. I feel like the winter classic used to be a big deal, on national TV, trying to bring in non-hockey fans. now it's on TNT on a monday afternoon, feels very underwhelming.

 

yeah I agree it’s dumb but that’s what I heard the reasoning was, they also cheapened it with the other outdoor games they’d play.

 

No chance the Ducks get to 20 wins this season.

“the NHL has the best playoffs and the best regular season game” in reference to the grueling playoffs + the winter classic outdoor spectacle…
also the nhl:
has zero confidence in their product so they refuse to attempt to compete with other leagues, to the point where they move the “winter classic” back a day.

the nhl scheduling is infuriating lol. they do it in the playoffs as well to avoid clashing with the mlb/nba whenever they can avoid the clash, and they don’t play on major holidays where families are gathered together ready to watch a sporting event in the background. my family for sure would have loved to have even just one hockey game to watch together around christmas this year! it is what it is lol. like, if you put on two awful markets, it doesn’t matter how few people tune in, it’ll still be viewed more than those markets would typically be viewed i’m guessing?

who knows, this is the same league that doesn’t know how to stagger start times and refuses to do games prior to 7pm.

 

I was off but I watched the world junior games over this WC personally. I totally forgot it was even on until one of my group threads mentioned it.

 

Wasn't yesterday a national holiday? Would have thought a similar amount of people were working Sunday vs yesterday if that's the case. Def get the frustration, though.

asked my creep level super fan friend, she confirmed that vrana deleted the wings related posts including his bio the day after going into the program. weird still.
