Yeah, probably the same for me. The cadence of the line "blood in the milk" in particular strikes me as deeply sad. It's so good.

man this is unreal. i dont like disparaging other bands when i praise another, but this is the kind of album i really wish another big pop punk band would have made in 2022...

not gonna name names but throughout this album I keep thinking "this is sort of like what [x] is doing but way better executed" (while still sounding like fireworks)

Yeah and not to name any names, this album is better than what most of the scene is up to. Playing it safe and sticking to what you know is one thing. Bands like fireworks who take these risks/steps just rise to a tier above the others if it pays off.

We reach for the longest shadow

I think Dan would totally understand if you felt like Fireworks does a better job at playing non-pop punk songs than TWY. Dude is probably their number one fan.

    hysterical and useless

I’ve been absolutely vomiting over this for 24 hours. I can’t believe they did this!! So glad they didn’t rush it. The closer is such an absolute ripper. Woods II, Blood in the Milk, I wanna start a religion etc etc etc.

Also had to make sure that was Dave a few times! Didn’t know his voice went that low. God I’m so thrilled to have this band back. Also find it weird that OCL had such a lukewarm reaction when that record is pretty incredible, and has aged well which can’t be said for a lot of “pop punk” records
