    This ruled.

My favorite characters were Weaver’s reincarnated teenage magical girl and the revolutionary killer whale. Best kill was the guy getting his arm ripped off by the rope. Worst moment was having to use the restroom, thinking it was a safe time, and then returning right when my favorite daughter is seemingly near death.

Guess I gotta take Cameron’s advice and see it again to see what I missed!

The movie still has more gun fighting than any other film I’ve seen released this year.

    Comment on a Deadline article:

"It’s doing it again folks! It’s really doing it. I never thought we would see another “Titanic” or “Avatar” type run but it looks like this film is going to leg it out to become a success.

Second Tuesday gross was $23.8 million. That is a 30% increase over its first Tuesday gross of $18.3 million and breaks its own record for largest Tuesday gross of the year.

It currently is expected to gross $56 million during the 3 day weekend which would represent a hold of -12% from its second weekend…. It is also projected to gross an estimated $17.9 million on Monday January 2nd for a 4 day holiday weekend of $73.9 million.

The international daily box office is also extremely resilient and showing signs that it can at least gross $1.3+ billion internationally alone. We will have a clearer picture of how high this film can go in the post holiday period through MLK weekend… by that point a clear picture of how much this film can make will be established."

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

This franchise truly is kind of weird. Aside from a few posts about people being at the movie, I have really seen nothing shared, no memes, really anything about it on social media. Curious if anybody else hears anything about it other than box office reports

I see people arguing about the box office on Twitter, but none of my friends say anything about it on instagram or anything

  12. Feel like there's been a lot of tweets about it. My parents know it's out, most of my friends have seen it in theaters

I don't think a movie's value should be measured in memes on social media. Something can just hit and be a special time at the movies

Eh I'm not measuring it by that, I wanna see it, it's just interesting, being that successful and not hitting socials in the way you'd expect. I think the theme ride experience is probably a good way to describe it

I’m sure it is but my tiktok algorithm is all over the place. I used to always see film rankings from people but lately it’s just been gym, fitness or Zoolander memes.

that brain juice over a nice Tulkan steak gotta be so good.

the seizure and Norm’s comments about how she shouldn’t connect to the spirit tree again is one of the few dangling threads i wished they had touched on again, along with Neytiri threatening Spider. i’m sure they’ll be brought up again in 3, but that’s a long wait for resolution there.

The seizures were touched on again: she repeatedly *did* connect to Eywa again and used her powers to control nature to save the day

Was that the same thing? I thought the Eywa connection was just through the tree?

It seemed very clear to me that what to the humans appeared to be seizures was in fact her basically first-time OD’ing on her supercharged Eywa connection, and that she learned to control it at least to some extent. Maybe if she connected to the tree itself then she could hurt herself again, but touching the plants is clearly not enough to hurt her

Ppl shocked their bubbles aren't real life

First they're desperate for the movie to be a flop and now they're desperate for no one to remember it 2 weeks in. What's going on

I just assumed connecting to the animals and connecting to Eywa were two different things, but I'm prepared to be very wrong.

In any case, does this mean Sigourney Weaver is Blue Jesus?

Yes - there was the speculation about who her father was, but her Eywa powers made it clear that she was essentially immaculately conceived. Eywa is her father

If memes equaled box office success/cultural relevance than Morbius would be one of the highest grossing films of all time.

avatar is a franchise about how important it is to touch grass!
