Some pretty cool elements to this, of course, but pretty much on par with the first one — maybe slightly better. Way too many characters (speaking of, Spider was goofy as hell and kept taking me out of it) and ideas brought in.

In my seat. I haven’t had any liquids since Tuesday. I am ready. The seats on either side of me are still empty!

Just finished watching it. To start off I thought the story was okay. The middle act was my favorite part of the film. I liked the exploration more than the action. Here comes my biggest complaint. The higher frame rate. I did not like that at all. It didn’t feel like I watching a movie and instead it felt like I was watching explosions from a video game.

is the higher frame rate actually noticeable in all formats?

I watched it in Dolby Cinema and it was extremely noticeable. Not sure about the others

Yeah there’s no way you won’t notice the HFR if you have it. It takes a bit to adjust to.

I hated HFR in The Hobbit, but didn’t really notice it too much here.

What am i looking for in regards to HFR? The only thing i noticed was the soap opera sort of effect, where everything looks almost too crisp and too real, like behind the scenes. It was noticable on the ship and the sub shots but never disracting i guess. I have that problem when i watch movies at other peoples places on brand new TVs. Sometimes its so crisp, it looks faker than it would look on an older TV.

Do showings in HFR list it as such? If I see this at Cinemark, will it be that?

I remember not liking that for the last Hobbit film (the only other time I've seen a movie in that format), but that was a shit movie that I only liked when it got dumb, lol. This in 3D and HFR I expect to be an absolute blast. Probably not making the journey to IMAX, though.

Both seats next to me were empty until the very last trailer when a dude sat down and pulled out a full Jimmy John’s sub and started to go to town. Smelled like cold cuts and onion the first hour.

But this absolutely fucking ruled. So gorgeous. Third act could have been cut down but damn was this fun.

I did not pee. I did pass out after the movie and had to get taken to the hospital in an ambulance because of severe dehydration but I didn’t get up and pee!
