I also just mean in terms of what should and shouldn’t be discussed. There are some bands I’ll never talk about again and some I don’t really have a problem with that I know others do and feel differently but there are some absolutely unanimous “do not post them, ever” bands like, idk would you ever expect to find a lostprophets thread or discussion about their old music pop up? and if it did do you think it would be generally accepted? But on the other hand I know several people are completely done with saves the day top to bottom, but I still listen to their old stuff and wanna talk about it sometimes, despite not supporting them currently. But if someone said hey even talking about their old stuff kind of bothers me I’d be like cool let’s talk about it I’m listening and not immediately be like “we can talk about whatever the fuck we want fuck you!”

 

To help get this thread back on track, yesterday I bought Chained Echoes, Solar Ash, and Samurai Maiden.

 

I missed the entire game awards because I was at a show and I’m almost home to check it all out I can’t wait to see the hades 2 reveal

 

I think talking about stuff is typically helpful. It can help people navigate what they’re feeling. Especially when it comes to a band or maybe an actor said some dumb shit.

But I don’t think there’s anything productive to be had in this thread, that has trans users who are already few and far between on the site, with anything to do with that. It may not be harmful to me but it is to them, and their voices matter more to me.

I missed this, that's exciting. I have early access and I gave up as I couldn't even get past some of the first battles, but I will try it again with more patience in August. Graphically (stylistically and interactively) it seemed really good. It took me a minute to get into DOS2 as well so I haven't at all dismissed it.

Controversial opinion on DOS2, I found it so much better for me to play on the console than PC. I don't want to say it's better, but it certainly was a more pleasing way for me to play it.

Playing a CRPG with a controller just sounds like a nightmare to me lol. I most recently got halfway through pathfinder wrath of the righteous which is incredible but yeah couldn’t do it with a controller

So here are my thoughts on Callisto Protocol halfway through:

Unless you’re stupid flush with cash, do not buy the game full price. There’s barely any meat on this bone and until there’s a new game plus mode, there’s not a lot here in terms of replayability.

i have revisited Dead Space 2 last night just to confirm this, but this is not a Dead Space Game. The closest comparison is actually another Glenn Schofield game, especially in terms of pacing.

i mean there are some dead space vibes, but mainly in terms of visual flourishes, but what this is, is The Last of Us 1’s combat system with a campaign that is closest in pace to COD: Advanced Warfare.

that said, you have so many abilities and skills that you can almost play the game like a character action game. It is incredible satisfying to dispatch enemies almost like a combat puzzle.
Is the game unable to handle more than one enemy attacking you at a time? Absolutely, but the thing is it shouldn’t be — if you’re engaging more than one enemy at a time you’ve failed the puzzle!

so yeah 11/10, best game I played in years barring Elden Ring, a total delight. Gonna go play it now.

I didn't expect your score with your initial comments. I LOVE dead space (dead space 2 is one of my favorites of all time) so i was a little disappointed with the early reviews and how most say your character feels OP pretty early on. I'll probably get and play the dead space remake before I go to this, maybe when it's on sale as you suggest.

How is the story? Cohesive and sensical with answers? or is it more of a free to interpretation vague mystery?

 

I highly recommend the Kindafunny spoilercast episode where they interview Glen. He divulges a little more into the story. He also said there will be a sequel if the demand is there.
