Really hope that lands at Riot seems like it will based on the dates

 

The Postal Service / Death Cab / Death Grips is a fucking fire start.

 

Tour poster has a big gap that weekend. Riot basically confirmed and I'm THRILLED about it.

 

was on the fence initially about going again, but now?? I might have to do Chicago round 2 after all

 

So excited to finally see The Postal Service.

Now get Rilo Kiley too since Jenny will presumably be there anyway.

 

Goddamn that's gonna be awesome. I imagine it'll be dcfc the 15th and postal service the 16th (or vice versa), but I def wouldn't be opposed to a back to back mega-set to end one of those days.

 

It all has to depend on the venue. If it's at Douglas again, hell nah, but if it's elsewhere I'd consider it MAAAAYBE.

 

Pro tip if I go again: Sneak in a bunch of granola bars and store them in a weekend locker. Fuck them long ass lines.

 

THIS IS AMAZING. And full circle for me (if it happens) as the postal service reunion back in 2013 was the spark for me to attend my first music festival ever as they were at lolla that year. that 2013 line up is still one of the best fest lineups ever in my opinion

 

Would the combination of Death Cab/Postal be a headliner

 

My guess is it'd be Death Cab --> other band --> Postal Service --> headliner on the two main stages. That way they can keep all of their stuff together and have time to set up between sets/give Ben a break.

 

I do think Postal Service can be headliners of their day

 

i think postal service can headline riot, they headlined the smaller of the 2 lolla main stages, same year that NIN was also headlining that same stage the next night. it may be bikini kill/jawbreaker -esque where they may put their strongest subs with them to beef it up a bit

 

If both of them are doing their respective album-plays, then I could see Postal Service/Death Cab being a co-headliner one night. Kinda like Flaming Lips/Ween in 2016

 

Both bands are weirdly sized and could be direct support for the main stage headliner - or close out one of the two second stages.

I could definitely see a scenario where the two bands are split across two days too.

 

They will, that's the entire tour

I think Death Cab would close over Postal just because they can play a longer set

Postal's one album is only 45 minutes

 

Oh I know. I guess what I meant was, I could see them playing back-to-back on one stage

 

Thats true, Postal Service would need 1 hour at most while Death Cab can have a 1.15 set playing the album plus extra songs

 

would be funnier if they were on the next door stages and ben had to immediately run from one to the other with zero break, haha

 

I really don't think Death Cab and/or the Postal Service are big enough to be a headliner. It's close, and I think both would be in the top 3-4 bands for their day... But I don't see either closing out the main stage.

 

I wonder if we’ll get an artist announcement sooner rather than later this time around. I mean, Death Grips already confirmed they’re playing, and this tour announcement practically confirms Death Cab and/or Postal Service. Seems like we’ve confirmed stuff earlier than usual. Yeah? No?

 

LOL. Postal Service finishes and Ben’s all like “thanks! See you soon!” Then runs over to the next stage to play with Death Cab and is all like “hey guys long time no see”

 

I'm guessing most of the lineup is signed, so they could totally do an early first wave... no idea if they will

 

I think you’re all overly optimistic of either or both acts at Riot Fest.

This could easily be a Pitchfork or Lolla booking for both.
