I mean, I appreciate your sentiment, but there's no reason to not touch these games though.

Wasteland at the very least is not an unknown quantity, it's a cult classic, and this is the third game in that series. It's from inXile, the guys behind the Bard's Tale series and Torment: Tides of Numenera.

I know Backbone, Toem, and Where The Water Tastes Like Wine have all been talked about in places like PC Gamer before too, although admittedly they haven't gotten the same buzz that other indies have received.

I dunno, I guess I also kind of feel a little insulted? I'm trying to give you guys free games and the response is "It's those weird games that Pen plays."

 

Wasteland 3 is a pretty big name in the CRPG scene. I’ve played the first couple hours and loved the setting and combat.

I genuinely consider myself a casual gamer so I’m still new to the PC market and all those games you listed because yeah I’m hardly familiar with any of them.

To be fair, I do have a lot of resources. Besides just getting bundles from Humble Bundle and Fanatical, I also read PC Gamer daily and I keep tabs on the Popular New Releases section of Steam.

Beyond that, I also just pay attention to who I buy games from. I own quite a few games from Raw Fury and Good Shepherd, for example, so I know to watch for any new games they publish.

On the other hand, none of this is anything anyone else couldn't do. I don't go sleuthing into the armpit of the web for games. This is all stuff that people are just generally talking about.

The exception I can see is stuff like Sekai Project or Playism games, although some of those are also very popular. But I was raised on Japanese games so I have an inclination to seek stuff like that out.

I dunno, what can I say? I just fuckin' game.
