Saw Violent Night and it was surprisingly good!

  2. Finished Wednesday! Jenna Ortega certainly carries the show most of the time, but in the end I actually really liked it. Adequately suspenseful and poignant when it needs to be. If you take it for what it is, it's very entertaining. As with most Netflix adaptations I've seen, it doesn't feel like the thing it's based on. It's more of a quirky-yet-edgy YA supernatural murder mystery than an Addams Family spinoff. And, like, I'm fine with that, since I personally didn't have that strong a connection with Addams Family growing up anyway. Hoping for a season 2, and I'm not just saying that because I want Wednesday and Enid to end up together. I mean, that's not the only reason, it's only the biggest one.

Agree to disagree. I really like Krampus (some of the creature design - Krampus itself and the jack in the box oh my god - still wows and terrifies me, the whole annoying family staying over for the holidays trope works here, Toni Collette is great and I love to hate David Koechner's character) but I feel like it can't quite figure out what kind of movie it wants to be, tonally. I think it could've been much better (and I'd love to know if there was much left on the cutting room floor for this) but again, I really enjoy it! I just really enjoy Trick r Treat much more.

I liked Violent Night. Predictable but fun. A little annoyed about the lighting being too dark during some action scenes. Also, didn't know Edi Patterson is in it and she basically played Judy Gemstone which was fun lol

I thought Skinamarink was a little too long, otherwise pretty good! That ”Look under the bed.” scene scared the hell out of me lol

Not sure if you finished, but if you ended up liking it, you HAVE to get Christmas Massacre next! It is also fucked. Much easier to control, too. PC/Mac only though. Honestly only 15 minutes in but already love it, lol.

I suspect it doesn’t have much depth, but the aesthetic is very on point. Basically, you’re a serial killer dressed as Santa taking kill directives from a Christmas tree. You lurk in the shadows of people’s homes and places while they’re celebrating Christmas and brutally murder them. You know, fun stuff!

Edit: I just unlocked a baby costume so now I’m just a big baby with a knife

Dude i cannot beat him at the very end in the greenhouse and it’s driving me nuts. I haven’t even tried in like 4 days haha.

I saw the trailer for Christmas Massacre and I’m so in!

I struggled with that too! You need both the pistol and the shotgun. Shoot with the pistol, run, shoot, run, repeat. When you’re out of ammo, pull out the shotgun and finish him off with a few more shots.

So, that’s part of the issue cause unless there is more pistol ammo hidden somewhere in the house, i’m SOL and only have the shotgun. Kinda anticipated either figuring out how to use the shotgun and then go melee with the fire poker (without taking any damage somehow) or just having to start over haha

I think there is ammo somewhere unless you had already found it! You’d have to look it up though - I believe it’s in a drawer somewhere.

It’s absolutely atrocious but you get used to it. Also, switching it from dolly to first person helped me a lot

Hahaha, I promise they add to the tension once you’re in the house.

Also, if you end up liking the aesthetic/overall vibes even if you don’t love MH, definitely check out the other Puppet Combo games because even though Christmas Massacre is the only other one I’ve played so far, I don’t believe they all have tank controls.

But I do hope you end up loving Murder House because I absolutely do!
