  1. The actual wrestling is always great - some storylines have been a little more hit or miss for me over the past 6 or so months

  2. The wrestling has never been the issue. Some storylines have been bad. And some are outright WCW-esque

Feel like both of these will be a battle of MJF and Sami Zayn. Almost just want to say promo of the year is the ''lately he just hasn't been very Ucey'' for the simple fact everyone in the ring couldn't keep a straight face. The other promo of the year for me may be the first one between MJF and Regal. Do you need specific dates of those shows?

Constant rematches was one of the reasons I tuned out from WWE for so long. A series between The Elite and Death Triangle is not bad on its face, but I felt the motivation behind it was lacking to nonexistent. A rubber match? Sure. Seven, on regular Dynamite, taking away time from other people who are in the shadows? I don't know.

It's weird to have a microscope on AEW and be like FUCK YEAH WWE at the same time

One thing I think AEW or its talent could do better is shine a brighter light on what they're doing outside of AEW. By that I mean many of the wrestlers have the freedom to pursue other work outside of AEW, whether it be wrestling for other companies, acting, etc. So sometimes I think wrestlers are off screen for those reasons, or injury, but there's not enough transparency about the reason and it projects that they're not valued by TK. Obviously it sometimes is the latter, and it deserves criticism, but often when they're off screen it's more nuanced than that.

Tony keeps fucking signing people, it's getting really weird

  11. I’m hoping both companies get some refreshing stuff going into the new year.

Cody coming back should help that main event scene for WWE going into Wrestlemania. We’ll get the Sami/KO payoff.

The Elite/Death Triangle best of 7 will wrap up and those groups can move on. MJF will get into different storylines. Maybe that ROH PPV can wrap up some of the stuff people don’t like. Maybe we won’t ever have to hear from Bow Wow again.

I think both companies lately relied too heavily on surprise arrivals and the uncertainty of what they'd do next - AEW for hiring previous WWE stars, and WWE for what the post-Vince period could bring. Now there are fewer free agents floating out there, and WWE is what it is now and fans can't dream so much on the what-if, it's undeniable that both products are shorter on top-drawer stories.

I said it during MJF's promo weds, they really fucked up not having him go babyface imo. The promo was the same old shit, the crowd wants so badly to cheer him. He wouldn't have to be some geek super friendly babyface either, he could have done his own spin on it.

it’s wasy to say nikki a.s.h was the worst gimmick, but she won the raw women’s title and was over with the kiddos…

the worst had to have been keeping mace and t-bar from retribution as they were, seeing as they never won anything of significance, and are in a better trajectory now with their new gimmicks now.

    ——————————

best on the mic: i nominate eddie kingston. for all the scripted nonsense in pro wrestling, kingston comes across as real as can be. the promo he cut before his match with akiyama at the full gear preshow got me good.

Totally, the surprise arrival shit is so fucking bland now haha. They both ruined it.

Triple H got to receive the benefit of the doubt for months - with anything unentertaining or questionable assumed it was for good reason and would pay off. Some has, plenty hasn't. It's not dissimilar to how for a long time fans forgave AEW's dragged out storylines - assuming they would all pay off as well as some did (e.g. Hangman's title chase). And now plenty haven't either.

Honestly I’m still trying to figure why TK has such an obsession with wcw when it was on life support.

They were fucking with the crowd noise because every time MJF would say something like "I have the microphone" to draw heat you could hear them audibly then turn the crowd up.

For everything AEW has done wrong, it's cool as fuck to see the Trans Lives Matter sign front row on hard cam all night long, especially in Indiana. Don't know if that sign would've even made it into the building with WWE.

a suggestion to liven up ‘best of 7’ series: matches 4-7 should be stilulations that get harder building up to the ultimate 7th match. it’s wrestling: best of series always goes to the end. it’s never 4-0, 4-1, or 4-2. at least adding those stips into the second half of the series makes it more interesting and builds more drama. i like all the wrestlers involved, and i’m already bored three matches in. the fact thqt these matches are happening every week doesn’t help at all either. space some of it out. hell, have the matches on rampage. those 30 minutes can be used with a squash match for powerhouse/luchasaurus, another quality in ring promo, etc.

People who compare AEW to WCW must have not lived through the last 2 1/2 years of WCW because nothing AEW has done has been close to that bad. It alright to criticize but the hyperbole is crazy. We are spoiled and lucky to have so much awesome wrestling.

Yeah, read/listen to Alvarez's book on the Death of WCW, it's fucking mesmerizing how asinine the booking was.

  25. I wonder if at this point they put Roman in two matches on separate nights and split the belts.
