My one Black Friday gaming purchase, I finally bought Dead Cells and its DLC. Restarted my progress--a second time, haha. The DLC biomes are so fucking cool.

I bought Hydro Thunder Hurricane a few days ago. I remembered playing a bit of the original Hydro Thunder when I was young. Had no idea there was a sequel made for XBLA until I saw it in the black friday section. It's weirdly excellent too. Wild.

 

So much fun

 

I'm not a big racing gamer, but I love the holy trinity of arcade racers that is Cruis'n, Rush, and Hydro Thunder.

 

Players log: Just unlocked a dog in Vampire Survivors named O’ Sole Meeo that shoots flowers out of its butt. Love this game.

 

Hell yeah

 

I will say with this current and last generation I’ve been missing some good racers. Absolutely was obsessed with PGR, Burnout, and early Forza entries.

 

Outside of Forza, the racing genre has had a rough go the past generation. There's been some solid ones, but none that stuck with me.

Trackmania is the racing genre's best kept secret though. No matter which one you play, it tends to be a good time. Time trial games are underrated in general.

If this Activision deal happens, Microsoft needs to make Blur 2. There's a rumor that Forza Horizon 6 will be the last one, so why not put the racing team at Playground to work on something like Blur. That would be sick.

 

Need for speed heat was actually really fun

 

Trackmania is so so good!

 

Definitely check out the Hot Wheels expansion on Forza if you like Trackmania.

 

fallout new vegas is like 10+ years old and it still crashes all the time on my Xbox Series X

 

theres a paradox where older games run worse on newer hardware. happens with dragon age origins on PC's that are too powerful aka mine. cant play that game for more than half an hour without a crash.

 

So giving up on Dragalia Lost fired me up to try out some other mobile games so I can play them while they still exist.

I'm already knee deep into Epic Seven and really enjoying it, and I found out that the makers of Guardian Tales finally lowered the difficulty on the chapter I left off on, so I'm getting back into that game.

Now I'm starting on another one called Blue Archive, and I'm tickled by the fact that the first thing it asks you is what your name is and how it's pronounced, because the characters in the game will then call me by my name, but because it's a Japanese game, they'll pronounce it how I presume a Japanese person would, so "Matthew-sensei" comes out as "Macchu-sensei" and it's so adorable and awesome and I love it.

To clarify, they add the sensei part, I didn't add it myself, that would just be weird.

now that im done with the main story of violet i can push that to the back and dabble with end game stuff and move back to some other games i was working on, mainly monster hunter rise sunbreak, persona 5, and fire emblem three houses. and hopefully pentiment soon. was fully intent on playing pentiment tonight but when i sat down i clicked persona 5 for some reason.

 

Talk of racing games got me looking at my PS+ collection and between NFS: Heat, Wreckfest, and Dirt 5 I have a decent selection of free racers. Downloaded Wreckfest we shall see.

 

Moonlighter for five bucks is kind of alright

 

I actually would be up for a God Of War where Kratos takes on Christianity. It would really light some fires.
