At the core of this imo, Sony wants to be the one who gets to have exclusives that make people buy their products and they don’t like that MS is playing their game by acquiring studios. Using COD as the reason why is also goofy because Sony isn’t gonna share their IP with Xbox and honestly never will.

 

Sony is acquiring Studios though, what Sony isn't doing is ACQUIRING THE LARGEST PUBLISHER KNOWN TO MAN lmao

More good stuff on GamePass is always a win in my book. Honestly, I am surprised they didn't secure Evil West since most of the studios games have been on there at some point.

 

They tried, but the offer was fairly low since early internal reviews weren't very optimistic about the quality of the game.

edit: the business strategy with this game is "keep patching it and then put it on deep sales + game pass for the summer"

edit2: just to be perfectly clear, do *not* buy Evil West before it hits 30 dollars.

maybe I am misunderstanding you, but they definitely also sold (some of?) the IP with the studios. I think Embracer owns at the very least both Tomb Raider and Deus Ex now. Correct me if I'm wrong.
