Sony will scream hyperbole from the mountaintops about how detrimental the acquisition is for the industry because that’s literally their job. Their board of directors would put Jim Ryan’s head on the chopping block if he didn’t make the biggest fuss possible about it. Whatever they’re saying in public about the deal is just posturing, that’s how business works. Don’t know why people keep trying to read more into it.

look into the Samsung Neo QLED line also. They get a lot brighter, it's better for a "sunny" room and should cost the same or less (without the burn-in issue)
