I'm partial to "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough." It didn't reach the same level of popularity, but I think that might be one of the happiest songs ever. Has the same timeless feel, too.

Woke up this morning with Pretty Grids stuck in my head. This band is really something else. So, so happy they're still making music as great as IB. Not to mention the rest of their amazing discography

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Where does Sure and Certain rank among the rest? Have people had the album for long enough now that they can rank the songs?

S&C is great and if you like it you'll probably love the album. I'm not sure how I'd rank the songs but Through, You Are Free, Pretty Grids, and Pass The Baby are my favorites at the moment.

The two big curveballs in the album are Pass The Baby, which goes from this dark, electronic tinged song to this big rock finish, and the title track which is essentially just Jims voice and some background piano chords.

I'm surprised people aren't really talking about Pol Roger. Is it disappointing as an album closer?

A lot of people have talked about Pol Roger. It's been all positive from what I remember.

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Doesn't tend to be mentioned in peoples' favourites though. And in fairness... there's positivity about pretty much every song lol.

Pol Rodger is great. It's kind of Death Cab influenced. It reminds me a lot of Polaris or even Dizzy in that it kind of builds to this one moment. It's a perfect closer for this batch of songs. But in the grand scheme of JEW closers, it probably comes in around 4th for me.

When you say Death Cab are you thinking Stable Song / Brothers on a Hotel Bed? Or some other style?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Pol Rogers is literally this record's Bittersweet Symphony

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

As in it sounds similar to Bittersweet Symphony or it is to the record what Bittwesweet Symphony is to its respective record (which I haven't heard, so unfortunately the latter wont mean much to me)?

Are there many strings and non-guitar/bass/drum/piano instruments on this song and/or the album in general?

    @tgscraig Prestigious

It sounds quite a bit like it sonically, and I think just in the tone of the song.

OK cool. That and the Death Cab comparison are interesting because I asked someone else "are there any songs like 23 on the new album?" and they said "the closest comparison would be Pol Roger, but it's heavier than 23".

So... I like 23, but I'm not really sure why it is held up as such a standard, I relate more to Kill and Polaris.

Not knocking 23, I actually would like to know what kind of meaning people find in it!
