Sooooo...Archer v Starks is Friday night and their semifinal match is the same night too!?

 

The Elite win Saturday and then Cole with The Kingdom () attack after to finish whatever The Elite vs TUE was supposed to be?

 

Okay I'm really liking this Full Gear card

 

Also feels like a card with some genuine unpredictability. Most of the matches have someone who should win based on the story so far, but, lots of swerve potential all around.

Are they ending this show with a Mox/MJF promo?

 

Fuck me I missed the elite and captain insano??

 

Weird segment tbh

 

The thing I kinda of thought they might be leaning into is the "actually MJF will use the ring and The Firm is his stable" heel move...but, when Mox just popped up to end that promo, it kinda no sold The Firm as a threat.

Although, if BCC is breaking down earlier in the night (a Danielson heel turn in the ROH match), it'd be REAL fun to see Regal turn on Mox to give MJF the win and leave the ending questionable.

 

Also, in a testament to how many talented people are in AEW...it occurs to me that if Regal went heel, Taz is actually nicely suited to turn face as a commentator (his only affiliation is with his son, who's a face). And Regal no longer hitting on Excalibur might well bring "preventing Billy Gunn from scissoring" levels of heat

 

For someone who has been down on AEW, I’m definitely more excited for Full Gear than I thought I would be. I really hope this is the show where they cement the pushes for young talent. I’d love to see MJF, Jungle Boy, Starks and Hayter all go over. They can really give Starks a push by having him win two matches on Friday and winning the finals the next night. The only match on the card I’m not super into is the Jade match, but I’m sure it’ll be short.

 

Only issue with this is if MJF wins as a still face...but, Starks can also look amazing beating Archer/Cage in 24hrs and just falling short v Page. And it does feel like the one booking choice they cant make is Luchasaurus winning via Christian interference

 

Yeah, I’m leaning towards MJF not going the face route, but who knows. The firm is just boring to me and MJF vs the firm does nothing for me as his first champ feud even if it’s short term. I’d much rather see MJF be a heel and face white meat baby face Starks at Winter is Coming than MJF/Page. Ethan has the unfortunate distinction of belonging to geek factions so he does little for me as a credible contender.

I didn't even notice this was no hands during the match. Insane.

 

Good for AR Fox. He's been one of the most underrated high flyers for years. Putting him with Top Flight is kind of perfect.

 

Regal taking such a backseat in that segment increases my expectation that he turns on Saturday.

 

Supposedly AR Fox got offered a contract

 

My impression had previously been that he's more focused on training/teaching than wrestling the past couple years, and that's why he wasn't signed anywhere - but maybe I was wrong or his priorities have changed?
