I’m a wrestling fan and people complain about Dave Meltzers star ratings for matches all the time. He liked the match more or less than you did!! Who gives a god damn flying fuck!

I just don’t know why people think they’re doing something revelatory by stating they don’t agree with the reviews lol. Oh ragnorok is getting 10’s but you think it’s an 8? Who gives a shit? It’s getting 10’s because those writers have a different opinion from yours, it’s not really anything new. I dunno I just see too much complaining about reviews

I don’t even have a ps4 or 5 so I’m stuck waiting for the PC port

 

I haven't seen anyone take umbrage with anyone else's review. I asked for opinions and people gave them. I think the general consensus is that the critics rated it too high, but that's about all that was said as far as 'disagreeing with reviews' goes.

And honestly, what's wrong with challenging someone's perspective or credentials when it comes to a review anyway? There's a human behind the score, and normally a lengthy reasoning. I find it quite entertaining to see if I agree or disagree with those and if I missed anything in my own critical assessment. Sometimes things go over my head, or I find someone missed a nuance that improved a game for me.

This is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time.

 

I played CyberPunk on a beefy high-end PC, my standards are astronomical at this point. I also just think some of the assets, mainly NPCs and the backgrounds are extremely plain.

I mean just look at TLOU remakes or Ratchet and Clank if you want to stay on the same system. GoW is nowhere near those games in terms of assets and fidelity.

god forbid someone talks about video games in the video game thread.

I'm not even saying anything controversial. It's literally an upscaled PS4 game. You have to crawl through a whole bunch of rocks to hide where there'd be a loading screen so the PS4 can keep up. The assets are made for PS4.

 

One of my most played games the last few years (and my favorite FPS) is Escape From Tarkov


Yesterday, Cabo Studio released a 2D top down “spiritual” remake of it on steam and its a fucking BLAST

 

fair, I still think it looks gorgeous but I also don't have that beefy PC lol

there are a TON of cracks in the wall to crawl through, which is my only real main complaint. the previous gen just needs to get left behind or we'll be here forever having these same conversations. like you mentioned, look what it did for r&C.
