Oh absolutely. They booked this tour before Eternal Blue dropped so they hadn't gotten the exposure from both the Underoath/Ghost tours yet.

I don’t listen to them (The Hold Steady) so I could be waaaaaay off here, but I feel like The Mountain Goats are bigger than The Hold Steady.

 

They both typically do 2-3 nights at Thalia Hall, but it’s part of the Hold Steady’s 20 year anniversary so it definitely makes sense for them to headline.

 

I assume Ticketmaster and Taylor Swift fans are both in meltdown phase as of this moment?

I read it this way too. Both bands are relatively the same size with a whole lot of crossover. I think it's fair to assume that the Hold Steady will play last, given the context, but both bands will probably play 60+ minute "headlining" set.
