Obsidian is pretty damn consistent.

 

having played tyranny and pillars 1 this year and a good chunk of pillars 2 they're easily one of the best studios in the business. and ovbiously the new vegas legacy speaks for itself despite the fact ive yet to play it. also need to get around to the rest of the outer worlds i only did the first level but its clear its gonna be great. still, tyranny and pillars were two of the best games ive played in so fucking long.

 

Outer Worlds is a pretty divisive game. It's either beloved or hated. I think the humor might be the biggest issue.

 

82 on metacritic a 73 fan score really isnt bad at all and falls under "generally positive reviews" and i already have seen the reactions to it, just because some people had some things to criticize about it doesnt mean it was really 'divisive,' just that it wasnt perfect which yeah thats fine most games arent.

 

I am just saying it's not what you think of when you mention Obsidian. I do know it has not set well with everyone but it's still a good game nonetheless.

Very much this. I thought I would have a hard time getting into it because I put about 40-50 hours into the original and then quit. I really wasn’t looking forward to replaying what I had already played, but the improvements are enough to make it a joy again. My favorite thing is being able to see what other players did on each day. SUCH a nice feature that makes the sim aspects more “manageable” without full on having to use a guide, which takes some of the fun out of it for me.

 

I just didn't find it interesting

 

Loved the writing, the art and environments weren’t my cup of tea. Played well tho. Well enough where I’m stoked for OW2!

 

tbf I don’t think there’s a game on this earth that wouldn’t get hated on by someone in this thread lol no offense
