I defo knew the Natural History version when Ga GA Ga Ga Ga Ga came out, maybe it was only around as a leak or somethin?

The album was finished two years before it was officially released, so this tracks.

Putting this here because it’s the closest thing to an active chat thread not because it’s an actual bad opinion: saw Petey tonight and it was everything I hoped it would be and then some. His music is good but definitely a bit goofy but damn if it isn’t just happy to be alive type shit. Have heard better things this year than his album, but haven’t heard a single other thing this year that makes me feel as good.

Like literally anything else in music, it's about execution. A cover that's half-assed or done just for clout or a lark sucks. A cover that an artist makes their own and properly works into the tracklist can be awesome. Dessa's reinvention of "I'm Going Down" springs to mind.

I'm going to be that guy, but shout out to Nonpoint's In The Air Tonight and Disturbed's The Sound Of Silence.

I would counter that Disturbed's "Land of Confusion" is even better.

If anyone suggests that terrible nu metal cover of “Zombie,” I’m gonna report it.

few years ago had a boss that would play that shit in the shop all the time :puke:

even met a couple people w the audacity to say the "cranberries version" sucks. granted its overplayed and they have way better songs imo

Three times! "Held" rules too, although I guess it's the opener and not in the middle.

I assume you're talking about Bad Wolves and not Miser, the short-lived hard rock band from 2006, who also did a cover of "Zombie" which I really enjoy.

Nu metal really spanned the gamut on covers. "Word Up" by Korn and "Careless Whisper" by Seether actually worked.

"The Chain" by Tantric and Nickleback's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" are war crimes.

I go back and forth on Limp Bizkit's "Faith"

There is no worse cover than this. Truly awful in every way.

also, against all odds, I like Nickelback and Kid Rock’s cover of “Saturday Night’s Alright.”

I left it out cause it's their weakest opener in eons. :(

This is a very well done cover that really makes it his own thing if you guys haven't heard it (JPEGMAFIA)

idk if this is a spicy take or not but I've found "play the album in full" sets a complete and total bore in the few instances I've been unfortunate enough to pay for. absolutely cannot relate to people who want that over a well-curated setlist.

like genuinely there isn't a single band I like I'd rather see perform that way than a conventional show

    forbidden chalice.

ive never seen a full album show but i think its neat when an artist does a small segment of an album. like playing 3 or 4 songs in sequence

The few times I've got to see if have been so good! I'd love to see more of my favourite artists perform their best albums live.
