Ghost Song is straight up metroid dark souls. You get plopped in an area with next to no explanation and you start dying a lot.

    It’s GREAT

  2. I like rogues that aren't too difficult, where there are enough unlocks to at least feel like you're constantly making progress even if you don't get very far in a particular run. Hades is great at this, as well as going above and beyond with its story and just the incredible amount of voice work in the game. Nothing wrong with the harder games I've tried, I just got impatient and moved on to other things

I also don't like very/extremely difficult games. I get frustrated easily unfortunately.

I am not the kind of person who sticks with playing one or two games at a time - I will take significant breaks and that just does not pair well with difficult games. You have to learn the controls and mechanics all over while you're not at the start of the game anymore. It's 100% do-able but it's just not something I want to put my time into. I do like some difficulty in my rpgs tho, in fact I'm going to continue my Shin Megami Tensei 3 play-through soon

Persona 5 is a rarity. It's an easy playthrough and I don't mean difficulty. I mean it's easy to lose time playing it. I'm 30 hours in and it's the shortest 30 hours I've ever experienced playing a video game. I don't even feel like I'm halfway to the halfway point. Wild. Great game so far. I'm enjoying it.

Played 4 hours of Ghost Song without even unlocking the healing ability by accident at the start lmao. I knew the game couldn’t be THAT hard.

Replaying through Ori and the Blind Forest to mop up some achievements. What an incredible game.

  20. I guess the bigger question is how shitty can a studio be before you stop playing their games, but that's entirely personal. I was gonna buy a Clementine graphic novel but I realized I'm not caught up on her story, I'd stopped playing TWD because Telltale was shitty. Was. I've already purchased the games. Can I get back into it without feeling shitty? I guess this is more a question for the Accountability in Entertainment thread, I just find it interesting how it can sometimes be difficult to navigate moral consumption of media. And again, it's entirely personal, so there's really nothing wrong with someone going, Fuck it, every gaming workplace is shitty, I'm just gonna play whatever I want, and not think about it further

My take on this is while a lot of company leadership in every industry absolutely fuckin sucks and they should all be launched into the sun, I’d like to think that the overwhelming majority of developers who worked on games are good people, and I believe that, scummy management aside, they would probably want their art to be experienced and enjoyed.

  24. Huh, hadn't really thought of it that way. Yeah I can get behind that, as long as it's not like Harry Potter or something. JKR's transphobia, that I take personally

Heavily considering a Steam Deck. Is the difference between a 256GB model and a 512GB model big enough to justify the cost difference?

And how close to a Steam Deck v2 are we?
