It just doesn't really feel to me like it takes you on the same kind of journey that a lot of their other albums do. I get a real sense of time, place, and world-building on stuff like Ocean Avenue and Southern Air, and I think Lift a Sail is very much built around a concept of love/getting over a catastrophe. The new one is a goodbye album. I don't think When You're Through Thinking... really has that same sense of unity, so it's an album I cherry pick songs from more often than I play it through start to finish. I agree that all of the individual songs are great, though.

Weird seeing comments about not liking WYTTSY here. I thought it was pretty well loved. I do think there are some weak songs on it but it's probably my 2nd favorite record by them.

Pretty sure nobody is saying they don't like it. They're just saying it's one of the band's weaker albums in comparison to the rest if their discography, which I think is accurate.

Yep, it's one of their weaker albums and also their least cohesive effort. I don't think every song on there is great, most of them are pretty solid but yeah, it's an album I very rarely put on

It's elevated for me by having, I think, their best opener.

Yeah, normally I'm one to listen to leaks, but even if this one does show up I'm just waiting till Friday since we are this close. I've been periodically checking the VK site just out of curiosity and based on the comments it doesn't seem like it will be leaking.

I'm surprised more people haven't gotten physical copies yet. They might have intentionally delayed that as well.

I hope orders ship today or tomorrow. I assume the vinyl is actually done, since we've seen pictures of it.

It would suck to get it late, thats for sure.

I get why they haven't shipped them yet: they're being incredibly careful to make sure this doesn't leak. But I think it would be a shame for that to result in people getting it late if the vinyl itself wasn't delayed. And unless they're going to pay for one-day shipping for everyone, they've gotta send them out soon.

It would have to be today or tomorrow morning at the latest, no? 2-3 day shipping is what's listed on MerchNow.

    I would have expected today.

I think 2-3 day was the default for all the orders.

Do they typically send an email when it ships or is it just one of those things that appears on your front steps?

This to me, is the EVERYTHING album. This album from start to finish to me is just such an experience. Like it has been mentioned on here already, their best opener is The Sound of You and Me, I remember when I first heard it thinking "Man, I really hope I have the chance to see this live." And I wasn't let down by it.

Moving on through For You and Your Denial, WHAT A TRACK. What I loved about Paper Walls but heavier in a Lights and Sounds sense, it was perfect.

Then you have With You Around, the most "Ocean Avenue" song on this entire album (and the one Key was most excited about I believe). This song is just full of energy and makes me smile overtime I truly listen to it. WHOA OH WHOA OH, is just something I expect from Yellowcard.

Hang You Up was one of my least favorite Big If songs, but put together with Mackin it really made this song better. I wouldn't have picked it as a single, however I get it and the song is still rather enjoyable!

Life of Leaving Home. HOLY HECK!! I remember the first time a listened to this song still, and was just blown away with the Violin and guitar. The lyrics also just are so well written, this is such a well written song from all angles!! ROCK!!

Hide, this version was OKAY IMO. Maybe the biggest let down of the album and kind of where I wish they would have put a different Big If song, such as Empty Street (thank gosh were getting it!) or Triple Please! However, I get hide and the addition to the violin was really enjoyable.

Soundtrack is my FAVORITE yellowcard song behind Martin Sheen or JFK. This song is truly what I believe Yellowcard encompasses. Sean and Ryan Kill it vocally, and UGHHH its just so good! I can't explain in "Mirrors show me upside, the clocks are counting backwards, here without you I could drown, you pull me to the surface" Their back and fourth is amazing.

Sing for me was such a sweet song, and emotional ride. This was well written (not as good as telescope), but was still very deep and must have been hard for Key to write.

See me smiling was also such a deep track, I think Key and the guys hit it with this one. Anyone who has lost someone can relate to this song, but the build into this is amazing.

Finally Be The Young.. The song to close out this album. A better closer, and just one to what I believe is us their fans. This song means a lot to me from the band, and I really cherish it. I also like Sean O's vocals on this. I miss him in the band honestly. I think he had a great help on this album.

So those are my thoughts on the album as I listen through again. Sorry i got carried away.[/QUOTE]
