Tell that to NO, who is relying on Andy Dalton to be meaningful because their other dirt cheap QBs suck ass, and in an offseason where TONS of great QBs moved around, they couldnt do anything.

I mean, they came as close as any team Ive ever seen to being "cap isnt real", but they had to let how many defensive studs go in the process, and are now staring down being a bottom 5 defense?

 

In fairness, they were in on Watson so clearly they had the ability to do something about it, they just didn't.

Watson's unique in that his 2022 salary could be $1mil...no other QB was accepting that. They couldnt go get Russell Wilson though, for example.

Im still laughing at them restructuring EVERYONE to make enough space, rather than cutting dudes like Michael Thomas. They're still at like 0 cap space in 2024 (though a lot of those arent guaranteed money deals by that point)
