I'll preface this by saying PJ Walker obviously isn't the long-term option for us at QB, but he has impressed me so much the last two weeks. He has made some absolute dime throws. I still think we'll max out at 5 wins this year because I don't think he'll be able to do this consistently enough, but I'm just happy that we're at least being able to see examples of the talent we have on the team. I know I'm biased, and people think I'm blinded by fandom, but talent-wise, we just aren't as pitiful as the first several games this year indicated.

Nail the QB pick, admittedly hard to do, and add a WR2 and I think we're a very competitive team. There are a few other holes, but every team has those, and those needs aren't necessarily dragging us down.

 

I mean, just look at where Baker is on that graph Brandon posted lmao no team is winning with that type of QB play.

PJ still has some bonehead throws, but then he has like 5 passes in each of the last 2 games where I'm just like where tf did that come from??? haha

I mean, yeah, I 100% agree there. Im fine with the no direct taunting of players (as awesome as AJ Brown's was) because you want to limit fights...but if they want to do a 30s mexican hat dance around their helmet, count me in

 

I remember saying Shane Steichen was near the top of my list for the next Panthers HC and then I saw Eagles fans saying don't buy the hype. Is that still the case? Because it seems like he's doing something right lol

 

Steichen is also benefitting from having a head coach who absolutely has a hand in the offense, a mobile QB, a dominant receiving trio of Brown/Smith/Goedert, and the best offensive line in the league

Tough not to look good with all that. Not saying he shouldn’t receive consideration, but I don’t think he’s a slam dunk

 

Mike Kafka should be everyone's top guy.

Especially when Tennessee showed you can literally hide a trash QB behind a run game. Granted, the Jets line is bad enough it may not have worked (see: Steelers all of 2021), but, better to go down trying than letting your 55% passer throw 3x as much as you run

You take a Reid defensive coach you get Harbaugh, Rivera, McDermott...you take an offensive coach, you get Childress, Shumur, Nagy, and Culley.

 

Yeah I just think it’s very “buyer beware” to hire a head coach based on the side of the ball they coached performing very well for a season. Not to say they can’t be successful, as I’m sure there are success stories out there, but there’s almost always more than one reason why those units are performing well.
