That's how I made it to the Venetian in the first place. I took a test ride in the morning to familiarize myself with how to get to the station. I walked back from there and later in the evening my friend came in so we ubered to Fremont and then ubered to the Venetian and did the walk back while seeing some sguwon the way.

Interesting tidbit about WWYF 2023 came up in a podcast interview with Andrew McMahon (Stryker's Tuna on Toast).

Kinda wild.

 

This is so much more interesting and realistic than Skiba's "they made a poster and hoped all the bands would say yes" bullshit.

 

Right?!! The general gist is that the bands was a pretty soft "yes" and were just inking out the details. Probably already had a contract halfway there or whatever... But had to accelerate things. (It also makes me think they don't really have much in the way of plans beyond that show. But there's also 57 minutes left in this interview LOL)

Wouldn't be surprised if this is what happened with Alkaline Trio this year, Skiba was pretty in the dark on the whole process, and is just kind of extrapolating his own experience to that of his full band and then to the festival as a whole.

knocking on wood over here cuz who knows what will happen between now and tomorrow night, but i'm honestly pretty shocked that only one band dropped off this year. and it's only because they cancelled their whole tour.

 

For a place with a reputation as seedy as Vegas, it’s been incredibly hard to find “party favors”. Lol my group has been trying since Wednesday and just failed so hard.
