Says a bridesmaid to a waiter?

Also how have you avoid that song for a decade? That song is (or at least was prepandemic) a staple of coverband sets around here at bars haha

"EDGING" isn't my favorite blink song, but damn it's catchy. I will say, I've probably only really liked a dozen Tom songs since Untitled, so I was pretty reluctant going into this second reunion.... but this song has already gotten more plays from me than basically anything else he's done over the years.

I actually genuinely like it and am not forcing myself to listen to it out of respect, which is the difference. Effortlessly fun and enjoyable.

  9. Travis' accident obviously is what brought them back together, but I don't think Mark and Tom were over their shit yet.

I'm psyched to feel like I'm all in on Tom blink again, but I'm not gonna look at Neighborhoods with rose colored glasses just cause it's a Tom album that exists lol

Up All Night, Hearts All Gone and Natives have all aged very poorly, IMO.

On the other hand, Wishing Well, Love is Dangerous and Ghost on the Dancefloor have really grown on me over the years.

Eh the monotone chorus and god awful production, bottom 30 is about right for Natives. Like most things on Neighborhoods, there could've been a great song if making that album felt like they loved doing it and less like an obligation. There's not a lot of actual parts I single out as bad on there, it just doesn't work for me.

Hearts All Gone was one of my favorites on there but I can't really get through it anymore. It's wild that they released a WORSE sounding version of it to begin with lol

I have absolutely noticed all the love that Neighborhoods gets on Reddit and it's really strange to me, because it does not line up with what the reaction was at the time at all. If you sort by new on the blink subreddit (which I've made the mistake of doing) it really is a cesspool over there. I'm not one of those guys who automatically rejects someone's opinion cause he or she is much younger than me, but you can sort of tell someone who listened to Neighborhoods for the first time years after it came out and think it's more advanced or nuanced than EOTS or Dude Ranch, therefore they defend it to no end because they are much smarter than you.

MH 4.18.2011 is a top 10 for me. I've liked them since '97. Yeah, cred. Must have something to do with my age.

The only songs I don't like on Neighborhoods are Love Is Dangerous and Fighting The Gravity. I agree the production could be a lot better but other than that I think it's pretty solid and underrated

Neighborhoods production doesn't bother me. I hate Feldman production. Too fucking glossy and totally devoid of life and character. Sounds like computers playing the instruments.

I remember when he sang the line, "I want to believe the god damn singer wrote the song, don't wanna hear a spokesman." Anytime I hear a Feldman production, I feel like he's one hell of a spokesman.
