We all loved Up All Night at first pretty much and gave Neighborhoods a 9 out of 10 cause our reunion blinders were on

 

Pretty sure feeling this, UAN, BTD, and now edging have all gotten some negative reactions when they came out. BIOMY just got the most of it

 

I believe this phenomenon is known as "Doctor Who Showrunner Syndrome"

"Love is Dangerous" just clicked with me and i actually think it's really good?

 

I mean what percentage are we counting as negative enough to matter? 3 of those are huge hits lol

I always liked Mark’s part on the chorus

I've seen worse plot twists!

 

I loved Neighborhoods when it came out and I still really enjoy the same tracks that I loved back then. Heart's All Gone, Kaleidoscope and This Is Home never did much for me, but I think the rest of the album is solid and sometimes even great.

Edit: and no, I did not get into blink around this time. Got TOYPAJ for christmas in 2001 and they've been my favourite band ever since.

I have adored Neighborhoods from day one.

 

Yeah, I mean, it's just hard to get a general feel for what's actually going on there. haha. I feel like everywhere you went on the internet, all you got was "Sounds like AvA" comments for "Up All Night". Chart performance wasn't terrible but wasn't as good as the others.

Who knows. I feel like Neighborhoods in particular has had tons of hyperbole thrown its way over the years. It was the best work of their careers, then it was actually terrible and we were just biased, then it aged okay and it was underrated, now it's back to being their best album. haha.

 

Because it is!

Also someone semi ironically echoed that tweet saying "it's not even a debate." That's the beauty of it. It's not a debate. Because you can like apples, and I can like bananas, and that's okay. The world's not going to end.

 

Neighborhoods is nowhere close to quality of Enema,TOYPAJ and Untitled.

But also feels more real and less forced than California/NINE.

California feels forced. Nine feels genuine to me aside from a couple songs that sound like they could have fit on California.

 

Edging has been stuck in my head all morning. And so has the line "What a beautiful wedding" from that Panic song, which I haven't listened to in 10+ years, so that's weird.
