Just listened to Chapter 13 for the first time in ages. Hands down a top 10 song from the blinkiverse

 

It isn't a Blink 182-specific thing, I just find it unnerving the music industry (particularly with huge artists) is putting up preorders like this. I have no doubt there will 100% be an album (likely out in spring/summer) it is just kind of lame that this is the way things are moving.

 

Vinyl pressing timelines mean you virtually have to put up pre-orders this early. Pressing is 6-9 months out last I saw.

And they probably do have a set number per color that is allowed within the pressing timeframe which makes sense they are "running low".

Feels like an eternity ago

 

I simply right-click saved the album. In fact, I'm listening to it rn.

 

I am genuinely confused at how putting an unfinished album up for preorder impacts the vinyl pressing though. Are they just in line for a pressing and there's a submission deadline or something? I am assuming they just wanted to catch the spike in attention and good press. Strike while the iron is hot. I just don't see how long pressing wait times correlate to putting up an album pre order.

Idk I guess I really don't care that much, it just rubs me the wrong way that artists are doing this or that its becoming standard practice, I guess that's how books are pre-sold, it is just weird to me.

 

Correct. If you want to have an album next year, you need to be 'in line' now for the spot to get it pressed.

Also probably true, and smart, to get pre-orders in when people are visiting your website due to a single release and tour announcement.

You know what song is great? The Party Song. Lyrics aside, the fast paced verses are unmatched

I think there's a certain bit of self-pride being able to sing along when you're just a kid, I very much remember trying to learn the lyrics in like... 4th grade and singing along all the time

I just don’t understand why people think blink is going to take their money and run. No one thought Taylor Swift was going to take their money with no song or tracklist.


here’s the thing. Pretend he does bail before the album is done ( he won’t) they’d refund you? With all the blink is greedy cuz ticket price talk, So the band is being greedy with ticket prices but they’ll bail before they get paid? sure makes sense.

 

When I saw Silverstein last month, they had a wheel-of-fortune style contraption to pick what three deeper cuts they'd play.

I think blink should do something similar, rotate in about 3 less played songs every night. That way they can add in some cuts for the die-hards without letting it take up the whole setlist.

Pathetic, Aliens Exist, Every Time I Look For You, Easy Target, Ghost On The Dancefloor, etc.

 

New found glory did that on their 2018 tour too. Would love if Blink did that.

She's not even a huge fan, but she knows I am. What a legend.
