You have to admit though, if stopping the spread of NATO was a real goal Putin had, invading Ukraine wouldn't be anywhere on the list to make that happen

 

Why did Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey choose to be a part of NATO, and why are Finland and Sweden choosing to pursue this now as well???

Just because I don't buy all of the garbage Putin spewed in his hour long speech a few weeks ago doesn't mean I am unaware of the periods of history he was referencing.

Even framing the conversation as "eastward expansion of NATO" completely plays into his hands.

Because they benefit or hoped to benefit from the global system of exploitation enforced by NATO? Whereas, say, Libya attempted to stand outside of that?

I see the news keep calling them suicide drones... which doesn't make sense at all.

 

It comes from the drone's perspective; instead of launching a missile from the drone, like the Bayraktar drone, the Iranian drone flies itself, and the munition it carries, into the target. The Japanese kamikaze pilots in WW2 were essentially the same thing. The Iranian drone is pretty slow though, leading to many of them being taken down by simple gun fire from the ground, and from various air defense systems. Russia is launching sooo many of them though, that a bunch are still getting through

Well, considering Russia is getting their ass kicked on the battlefield, with Ukrainian forces having all the momentum, and continued Western arms assistance, as long as the Ukrainian people support their forces there's no reason to stop and not go for all of their land
