My son is obsessed with "EDGING" and has been making me play it on repeat in the car. He's four. Told me he wants to go to the concert. Maybe in a few years, but not next year. At least we stopped listening to "Way Less Sad" by AJR over and over.

 

It won’t be the same, and it likely won’t be as special, but it’s so rad blink is the band taking them out, and it’ll likely pull in a ton of fans that are outside of their bubble and exposure since glow on.

They have been doing some huge festivals that replicate a mega tour and the crowd still goes wild. It will crush.

 

Totally agreed. Timebomb, for example. That song slaps. Although it has the classic “why are we doing the final chorus twice?” dilemma that Tom seems to do a lot lol

I love it because it sounds like New Order and The Cure. Both of whom I’m a huge fan of.

 

Selfishly wish Tom kept Tomebomb for the new Blink album but I love it regardless. The intro is hype.

 

I think Tom and Travis kept the new BCR song for new blink.

 

No way, why dilute the hype of another band? It would be rad if they did a one off show and dropped the song some time in the future.

 

Two things:

1) Thank you to whoever posted the newsletter tidbit on Reddit for linking to the newsletter. That's really nice of you because it sends people back to it to subscribe, which I greatly appreciation.

2) The narcissistic comment in the thread still bugs me. Like, hell, I get it for me like 10 years ago, I played into that all the time, but it feels so hilariously dated when 90% of what I do "online" these days is literally the opposite of what I should do if I want attention. So strange how one random anonymous comment still does get to me though. I should really not read reddit. But, hey, at least I have the self control to not respond anymore.

One of the greatest bits of advice i’ve ever gotten is “your opinion of me is none of my business.” Been really enjoying the newsletters since all the dust got kicked up with the Blink whispers a while back .

Edging got 4.3M views on YouTube in 2 days.Don’t understand the numbers but I’d imagine that’s good

 

Spellbound, no more guns, and fire in a nameless town are the 3 that I like the least on Lifeforms.

 

Euphoria really grew on me over time. Musically it’s just so good. “I’m fucking paul revere” is truly one of the best blink adjacent cringe lyrics of all time. i love it so much. Losing my mind is a very surprising bop to me too. That album is great and is one of the best pieces of evidence that Tom is psyched to be making progressive punk music again.

 

for my money Spellbound is the best song on that album

I feel like this gotta be the case. Tom was talking about releasing it for the 20th anniversary and that has been long gone now lol

Also, after listening to the EDGING video a few times in headphones, it's really obvious that the master is WAY WAY WAY too limited/compressed, and at some points during the chorus it sounds like it's distorting in a really unpleasant way.

The actual Spotify/iTunes mix sounds fine, but the Youtube master is made way too loud for its own good.

 

I thought the YouTube audio sounded noticeably worse too actually
