Why would blink pay Matt to post about the song lol, that has absolutely zero added benefit for them. Both Tom and Matt's stuff seems genuine, thinking anything else is just overthinking (I know as this fanbase likes to do)

 

All I said is it’s not weird to think there’s money behind a social media post. But I agree, it all seems genuine to me.

 

Honestly, Matt’s post felt more like a “See? No drama. Stop asking me about it on my socials every 30 seconds. We’re all friends and I wish them the best” kinda vibe.

Yeah the youtube views have been wild so far. Curious to see how many streams this has on Spotify after the weekend. Really think it's possible this gets them their best Billboard 100 debut in a long long time.

 

They utilized him a ton last record, I’m confident there will be plenty of great opportunities for him to shred on the record. I really don’t feel like this song called for it.

I don't get why the tweets are so corny. Jake may be a bit more down on it than me, but I agree with the sentiment that it feels like it doesn't really lean into what any of them do the best. It doesn't have the aggressive riffs that I love from Tom, the signature drum parts from travis, or the more soaring choruses from Mark. I'm very happy they're back, and that there's a lot of excitement, but this definitely feels like some middling effort.

I am 1000% with you. I never understand or like “fixes” or “done in this style” videos or whatever.

 

Maybe it’s just me, but the intrigue isn’t solely based in the song. Edging, performed by another band, isn’t something I’d be into.. but something about Tom rekindling his relationship with the band and Mark’s recovery .. THAT is the draw. The situation is what elevates the song.

 

To me this song feels like best friends just having a good time and rekindling what made them love making music together in the first place. My guess is this won’t be the masterpiece of the album, and that’s ok!

I’m just happy it’s not a one-off single that they decided to do to tide people over while blink continued a “hiatus”. Very happy they’re together for the long haul (for now).

I explained to my wife my worries about Tom eventually leaving in the future and she stopped me an said “stop borrowing trouble”. So I’m choosing to be happy about everything in this. So happy they’re back together.
