This is like when critics shit on the newer Kevin Smith films (Clerks 3, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot)

Much like Blink, they are a product of the 90s, not as amazing as the originals, but I’m there for the fun and nostalgia.

 

The TOYPAJ takes are fucking bonkers lunacy 4D chess. Looking for flaws in a 20 year old record that brought them to a brand new level of stardom. Bananas.

 

Are you even a fan of the band? Didn’t you just say you don’t really listen to them? or am i misreading that?

Woa! That is a hot take if ever I have heard one. I love Violence personally, it's been a favourite ever since the record came out. The big wall of sound hit of the chorus melody, to the rhythmic chilled out verses are perfect. Down I love as well, I love the discordant melody of the verses which has the great rhythm groove, and then the big chorus. For me they are both undeniably great songs, but the melodies they use are more to my tastes in what I want to hear.

 

I said I think two of their albums are great, one is good, and don’t like any of the rest, I don’t know how you got “I don’t listen to them” from that, but hey whatever you need to cope

 

the reactions I’m seeing to any opinion that isn’t “this is great and everything the band has ever done is great” are blowing my fucking mind. I’m assuming y’all are adults lol

 

Yeah, the inability to accept that some people may not like this song is crazy. I love Blink, but this song is pretty weak as far as their singles go and at the very least people should be able to see why fans opinions would be divided.

 

There’s one little bit at the end where he does some cool fills but that’s it. He’s literally the best part of the band and they aren’t utilizing him at all

I love this band and I am very excited to see them next year but I do not like this song at all. Whoever said the drums are faceless (or whatever they actually said) hit the nail on the head.

I’m still excited for new music though. BIOMY was kind of weak too, but I loved Nine. There were just a lot better choices they could have made for a lead single.

 

Why do I care what level of stardom it brought them 20 years later? That’s weirder than listening to the record and critiquing it
