I like to imagine that the Canadian version is something like "so I shook hands with her in church."

 

I actually agree with this

 

BTD > UAN > Edge > BIOMY.

But “Darkside” shoulda been the lead single.

 

Yep. The back half absolutely shines.

I'm still angry at just how poorly NINE was promoted and marketed.

"Hungover You" not being a single is fucking criminal. One of the hardest hitting choruses in the band's catalog.

 

Such a good song

"It was just one time, one time. Started turning into two times, a few times" is one of my favourite blink lyrics

 

Darkside is the best of all those songs for sure, it really felt like the peak of what Matt blink could be

 

Softer than I thought it may sound, kind of lay-up lyrics but still cool to get new music from that trio in 2022.

 

I’m not thrilled with the single but geez… anything is better than Nine so there’s that?

 

If there’s one thing about Blink fans, we all have wildly different opinions on what their best stuff is. (I hate darkside so much)

I’d say… Up All Night / Blame It On My Youth / Edging / Bored to Death

 

Bored To Death was a great single, but I'll be forever bummed that Sober never made it to radio.

I got into that track by a Spotify generated playlist, and it’s probably my favourite song of the Matt era. Crazy that it wasn’t a single.

 

Now that I’ve listened to it a bunch, I do think it’s a pretty weak track. The beat makes it sound like the title sequence to a kids TV show… doesn’t help as I typed this I was listening and they sang “wanna play?”

It doesn’t make me think I won’t like the album, I just really don’t like how cheesy this particular track feels.

Love the new song. Great to have Tom back.

 

Yeah Edging is pretty weak. I think this band has been beholden for some time to what they / the label thinks the fans want to hear, hence choosing lead singles that fit a specific mould. Mid-tempo etc. I'm sure there will be better songs to come but compared to say Bored to Death I don't see this being much of a hit.

 

Does anyone have the spotify presale code for the uk?

 

Pretty much my thoughts. I’m not expecting to be floored like when I first heard Feeling This or I Miss You but yeah Edging is very middle of the road for them.

Looking forward to hearing more though.

 

I can't find a code either. Also the actual link on Ticketmaster for the Spotify presale seems to have disappeared.
