song is good and fun, all of yall grow up

  2. Can anyone confirm or deny that artists have to opt in to dynamic surge pricing

  3. Anyway I just fail to believe that the last time they came the arena was only 2/3 full and this time around it nearly sells out within a couple of days? Same venue. Seems weird.

And Travis to stop producing bad pop punk acts and Mark that it’s okay to play a show for more than 90 minutes

  5. I think I can stomach paying $200 for a floor ticket. Right now I’m seeing upper level tickets going for $300+. Just no.

You know, Neighborhoods and California kind of had something to prove with both of those records and lineups so I know what they were going for, but after Nine, I realized that I don't think people will ever figure out what they actually want from this band.

Any direction they go, whether that be pushing forward in some new way or harkening back to the old days, people will still be opposed to it.

It's probably more of an opt-out but yes, they have to agree to it being applied to their shows.

People have extra money, even if they're spending it foolishly.

my main problem aside from Tom’s cringy lyrics is a bouncy song like this is sort of a novelty. Weird choice for a first single, but it is catchy and short.

I like Mark’s lyrics and adding the synth in the last chorus is a great, classic Blink/Jerry Finn move

Oh good, someone told them that people were frustrated by the lack of thanks to Matt.

I'm not entirely sure I get the Ramones comparisons (I guess I Wanna Be Sedated), but I dig the new track anyway. It's been such a long time since I've been immersed in pop punk, and this last week has gotten me back in a bit. I also feel like my mental health has been better. Feels like there's a connection there. I even revisited California, which I didn't like on release. I find much more to like on the revisit. Still not into Nine, but who cares. I'm so glad other people are into it. And I'm so glad Mark is healthy.

It's partially an ethos thing and partially the simple chords and drum part. No more Guns was the Ramoes song on Lifeforms.

  15. sure but have you heard the new song?

There may be venue agreements that supersede it but ultimately, yes, the act/management/promoter decides and the profits go to them. Ticketmaster just makes money on the fees.

The mods in Mark's Discord are now deleting anyone talking about TM's price gouging. Such a bad look, honestly.

  19. Very excited. It's Blink! Them and Jimmy Eat World are the two where new music still makes me feel like a little kid again. A feeling of anticipation and glee.

And maybe that's why I've loved everything they've done. Or maybe I'm just easy.

  20. No bad blood, then, and Matt's fine in Alk3. Moving on.

Yeah, I mean, a vast majority of all three chord pop punk goes back to the Ramones. Good stuff.

I doubt band members are personally involved in all these decisions. Their manager probably negotiates a certain fee with promoter which involves various tactics. Manager will take it back to the band along the lines of "Alright dudes, $800k/show you down?" and they'll go "hellz yeah brah" not necessarily knowing what methods are used to pay this fee AND make the promoter a bit of change.

Disgusting. Mark’s manager is an admin there too, so that makes it even worse seeing as he’s probably behind opting for dynamic pricing. Way to sour the hype

This is pretty spot-on. Sonically, they're kinda fucked no matter what direction they go. I'd be down for a speedy pop-punk record with some interesting production flourishes and deviations (like the single) along the way, though.

My biggest hope for any new music above all else though, is that they actually attempt to say something of substance. Aesthetically, I enjoyed a lot of the Skiba-era output for what it was. But I couldn't connect to any of it in a meaningful way. It was pure pop enjoyment.

And it seems like, between these three guys, there's plenty to talk about in the lyrics if they choose to get confessional about it. They've all lived and gone through a whole lot since the last time they were in a band together.

This new song is, if nothing else, a step toward that. After reading the lyrics to the whole thing, it feels like it's about the band getting back together and the anxiety around it. I dunno. I'm optimistic.
