almost like relying on oil is bad

 

I said this on twitter

I stole material things from family and my partner, I verbally abused the fuck out of anyone who I spoke to, I did many many other unspeakable things all as a direct cause of my mental illness. As much as people are pro mental illness, they sure seem to have a huge problem with any symptoms that aren’t just a reflection of your basic depression or anxiety disorder. The truth is that a lot of mental illnesses tell the people suffering from them to cause harm and to do horrible things, and in my case with substance use disorder I had no control over whether I acted out on it or not, I had to as a matter of survival to feed my addiction. It is so, so fucked up and I’m accountable for my actions but my actions were the direct result of mental illness. It’s not an excuse, but it is important context that shouldn’t be ignored if we truly do want to destigmatize mental health in our society. A lot of people say they want to do that but their thoughts on anything messy never reflect that. There’s a reason why at every psychiatrist intake I’ve ever done (I’ve done a lot) they ask you if you’re suicidal and/or homicidal

In related news I’m 92 days clean this time and start a new job tomorrow :)

and a car again too I know the three month come up has been nuts I haven’t grown this much in the previous six years combined I legitimately don’t feel even remotely the same as I ever had when trying to live a clean life

The studies keep painting a grimmer and grimmer picture. I don't understand how sirens aren't going off with govt higher ups. They're mortgaging so much economic future.
