It does feel that way, like it skews slightly older.

50 bands in total next year, in comparison to 64 (or 65 with the rotating slot for La Dispute / Alex G) for 2022.

Considering it’s a year and advance there’s still time. They might be waiting to padd some bands who have sexual assault allegations this year.

Definitely. Wonder if they did that on purpose

God I feel like every time I look at the 2023 poster I spot a band I missed when I read it the first time. Just caught rn that MxPx and Gym Class Heroes are playing

Also, side note, I'm making a single elimination bracket for 2022 since there's 64 bands lol

    Name them.

I get that there are probably a lot of bands with problematic members (and hopefully new lineups with those people but kicked out) but name the rapists.

Lol. None of the problematic bands have kicked members out. That would be too much to ask. No Pressure’s drummer, Jared Leto, Jack from ATL are all definitely rapists/abusers. Front Bottoms allowed a known abuser to be in the band long after allegations came out and Chris from Saves The Day did jack shit except disappear for a year when allegations came out against him. This lineup is super problematic and gross.

There are different levels of problematic so I was interested in who on the lineup has a rape allegation against them. I'm not being a smart ass or stirring the pot, just generally curious who is on this lineup has something that serious against them. The only bands on here I knew had allegations that were possibly like that, were the pierce the veil drummer (and I thought he was out), and then the front bottoms I vaguely recall something about but I didn't even see them on the lineup. I knew Jared Leto had his issues, but again, not rape.

    Random question.
In the FAQ section of their website, they state “Hydration packs are allowed and do not need to be clear, but must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than one pocket in addition to the one holding the water reservoir”

By “hydration packs” here, do they mean small backpacks that hold water like CamelBaks? Because I really want to bring mine but I’m not 100% sure if that’s what they are referring to. I think it is given that they mention a “reservoir” though.

    Thoughts?

empty camelbak backpacks have been allowed into every festival i've ever been to. just don't have anything else (besides like, a sunscreen bottle, make the bag look mostly empty).

Hotel booked for next year at a super low rate and got a group of us that will do what we did last time. and try to snag tickets tomorrow. Hopefully one of us gets the opportunity. I feel like this will be even more brutal than it was for this year. Especially with how stupid the blink ticket prices at all the other markets. Some of the dynamic pricing tickets are like $700+ so people may be willing to travel, I just think it's a lineup with more mass appeal to but I could be wrong.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow. I'd say book early! Don't get screwed when things are jacked up.

Also I'm mad excited for this years fest! I'll be there Thursday night - Tuesday and I'm going to the fest on Sunday.

Blink will be playing absolutely everywhere next year though, at least! Its difficult to say, but to me a its a weaker line-up.

Certainly its more pop-punk leaning, so maybe that's why I'm saying it, but I think the "emo" line-up this year managed to curate an insane line-up that captures the emo zeitgeist in a way we've not seen in the longest of times. Its reminiscent of line-ups from 2005-2007 for festivals like Give It a Name.

Now, I could be completely wrong, but I feel like pop punk wasn't a cultural phenomena in the same way. Most people who were into emo were obviously into a lot of pop-punk, and a lot of those people had probably started out in the pop-punk bands of the late 90s etc.

I might be chatting shit either way. Pop-punk was always more mainstream and a bit less fanatic/defined/cult-like than emo. When I see Greenday/Sum 41/Offspring/Good Charlotte/Rise Against, I don't get such an urge to go.. and I was a fan of all of those bands.
