I miss the old Blink-182: Rivers, Mark, Conan

 

I probably had a bigger reaction to Bored since it was the first single without Tom and didn't know what to expect and then it wound up being a great track. That being said, a lot of that excitement was deflated when I heard the rest of California and didn't dig most of it.

@Jason Tate have you heard of anything coming during tonight’s MNF broadcast related to the impending drop?

 

I was drunk at a pool on a family vacation when Up All Night came out. I remember being excited but also thinking “I thought this would literally never see the light of day…” I was honestly not that pumped about it. I thought I would listen to it on repeat but I really didn’t. Wasn’t it some foreign site/station that leaked it?

With “Bored to Death”, that was like peak excitement. Mainly because the whole release page got launched early and a bunch of us here wondered if it was even real at first. That was like a perfect way to kick off the Skiba era, and it was nice to hear Mark have some energy into a track again after he was sorely missed on Neighborhoods.

 

Was way more excited for “Up All Night” after two years of anticipation. Ultimately enjoyed it enough but was really confused when I was at the first show back and they debuted “After Midnight” and “Ghost on the Dance Floor”. Both are significantly better songs. If they hadn’t mentioned the title of “Up All Night” way in advance, I can’t imagine they pick it as the lead single in 2011.

 

Weren't they still making the EP in 2020? People read too much into Covid times tbh. Mark and Travis have done their own features for years. I doubt this reunion even was a thought til after Mark was diagnosed and recovered. Not much different from Travis' crash playing a role in the first one I wager

 

maybe it'll be february 2nd since the street the ad was on was 12th and 2nd or something. maybe it's that calculated.

I was definitely hyped for Up All Night obviously. I remember KROQ played it twice in a row lol. Now I'm not that crazy about it. The chorus screeches the song to a halt. It's on the good part of Neighborhoods still

Oh my god you just unlocked a memory. We couldn’t get the packets in the UK so I had to hold up this awful printed out scan of a packet to my webcam in order to see blink play The Rock Show in some augmented reality bullshit. How did I forget about that lmao

 

Listening to my one and only Blink vinyl in anticipation of the rest of the week. Feels good.

 

Imagine if they announce the tour, but there's just no confirmation on if Tom is back, and they jusy leave us in horrifying suspense until the tour starts.
