My initial instinct is that you're probably better off just getting a new computer, as upgrading a graphics card, especially in an older system, is never just about the graphics card, but making sure everything else is compatible with it.

If you go into Device Manager, what display adapter does it show you have?

Wasn’t able to play at all last week because of Hurricane Ian but back to TLOU2.

I have now got all my skins back and all my history so everything is good.

I can’t believe I sunk over 100 hours into this game.

 

Had a weird issue where I couldn’t sign into my Xbox and I had to restart it. Works fine now though, wonder what happened?

 

Installed OW2 just to check and yes! all my skins are there. idk if I want to jump into actually playing it anytime soon, though. I haven't played anything pvp in a long time and am much happier for it, people can be so toxic and it brings out the worst in me.

Also my friends are trying out LoL (vs bots) and roped me into it haha.

Yeah, being honest, I've never been one for the whole "build a computer from the ground up" approach because I'm lazy, and there are plenty of ready-built models out there that are just fine.

My current computer is an iBuyPower model I bought off Amazon, and I see that they have theirs at discounts currently. See if one suits your needs and your price point.

The thing is, buying a graphics card also involves things like the power supply, memory, and the motherboard. You don't want to just buy one and make do; I've played that game before and it's not a fun game. You have to make sure everything works together, and the older your computer is, the more you're likely going to have to replace.

 

That’s already a PCIe card. I’d bang a rtx 3060 in that puppy and upgrade the rest as you see fit.

 

I took a cursory glance at price points for the 3060 and keeping in mind the other things he'll probably want and/or need, and I still feel he might as well just look into a deal on a complete system.

 

Player's Log:

It's been a while since I posted one, but I have made some progress in various areas.

- Journey: I said I would do this, and I kept my promise. I unlocked three more achievements: the one for playing the game after taking a break for at least a week, and then the ones for getting all the symbols and for crossing the broken bridge without repairing the entire thing. The only three achievements remaining are multiplayer related, and therefore I am not interested.

- Famicom Detective Club: Finished The Missing Heir today. Lovely, lovely game. It's true it can be frustratingly old school in that it's sometimes obtuse about which action you need to take to progress the plot, and sometimes you need to select options more than once to get the whole story, but I'm cool with it, cause it's fucking great.

- Dragalia Lost: I'm in Chapter 3 right now, and I'm a little nervous about that, because I thought I'd be further by now, and I'm worried I won't be able to finish the game before it shuts down. I know, I still have plenty of time, but it's a worry nonetheless.

- Edna And Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes: I started this game, and so far it's unclear how it ties to the first game. You're playing a completely different character, although Edna is in the game as a supporting character, but I'm not sure how it connects timewise to the first game. It might not matter, I might be thinking too hard about this. Anyway, hoping I can still knock out a good chunk of this game tonight.

 

Journey is one of the most beautiful yet succinct games I’ve ever played.

oh, i don't know if its being brought up much here or if there's another thread but- Street Fighter 6!! everything i've been seeing from the game has me really excited for it. and i don't really play traditional fighting games! but it looks like i might get some fun outta this one.

It’s a physics based game like those above or something like Goat Simulator. Each of your trigger and control sticks control one side of the spaghetti. It’s fairly easy for the most part but some levels are frustrating as hell.
