I actually like the voice acting and the animation was obviously top notch

 

it makes it even funnier that he described it as "unlike anything you've ever heard in the Mario world before"

He definitely did a New Yorker accent at the end

 

wow, that looked good. didnt really have much of an interest before but now its definitely got my attention.

 

Gotta say I'm perplexed by the decision to have Pratt just do the bland chris pratt voice he's used in animated features before instead of sticking with the distinctive, well-established voice that the character is known for. Looks gorgeous visually though.

 

The Bowser stuff was great

 

everything about the Mario movies looks spot on - except for Pratt

Man I already know that if I was a kid right now this would be the most excited I'd ever been for a movie. This looks like exactly the kind of movie I always wanted to exist when I was that age

I hope they turn the Koopas into the new minions because they are just made to be funny

I remember seeing/playing Super Mario Bros 2 as a kid, and being like "wtf is this", hahaha, and to them to see them revert back to the SMB1 visual style for the 3rd game. Wonder if they'll include any elements/characters from that game in this

 

i didn’t know for the longest time 2 was like that because a different game was being developed in that style but once Mario Bros. became a hit, they just swapped in those characters into that game

 

this is where i'm at. as a 30 year old it just looks dumb and not for me, but kids are gonna eat this shit up. rightfully so, as it's made for them.

 

My parents had the Super Mario cabinet that came with Super Nintendo.
I vividly remember that and Mario Paint.

 

It actually was a non-Mario game that was out in Japan and they just reskinned it with Mario for the Western release, which is even wilder

 

The game that was the actual Mario 2 in Japan came to us later, as Lost Levels. They initially didn’t release it in the West because they thought it was to hard for non-Japanese players, which is funny.

 

mario bros 2 is very good

 

I showed the trailer to my 6 and 8 year old sons this morning and they both said "why doesn't he sound like mario?!"
