Also just look at what has happened to AEW over the past month - it’s more backstage drama and fights than anything else

It’s not like this is the end of the feud so I don’t care really that Sammy got the pin in a vacuum, it’s the move that gets the most heat on the storyline. It’s that Andrade got sent home and Eddie Kingston got suspended and the Elite and CM Punk aren’t on my tv but he is is what’s insane

 

If it was genuine heat, I think it would be fine. Sometimes you want the heels to win.

But when its heat caused by the boss playing favorites and establishing clear double standards the Bucks and Kenny and Eddie all get suspended while Tony's coke buddy still gets to wrestle... just a mind blowingly bad decision.

 

Also the promotion sorely misses the energy that CM Punk brought weekly even tho he’s a bitter injured jerk

 

the best thing for WWE was the fact that Vince left pretty much instantly - there was no "handing off" period between him and HHH.

TK probably got spooked because I assume he loved older NXT

 

They are absolutely missing the Bucks and Omega too

Bryan Danielson never goes over so it’s hard to get excited about any of his matches

the best part of AEW is the Acclaimed and that’s it

 

Also why is Ricky Starks never on Wednesday?

 

And hopefully we get some resolution to this Garcia story with JAS - either he’s screwing over Danielson or Jericho next week

it *almost* as if Tony is leaning into the role of a heel. But that is such a dangerous game to play. And its not something that you can do half way. If Tony wants to become a Mr McMahon type heel that gives his friends special treatment... I mean I guess its a way to spice up the show. But you need to make it clear to the audience that this is Tony Kahn the character, not Tony Kahn the person

AEW had done way too much blurring the line between kayfabe and reality. It just doesn't work for me.

I want to get lost in the narrative, knowing that this guy is still a good person who is just playing a piece of shit. When it becomes unclear what is real and what is part of the story... you can't get lost in it anymore.

Women sorta kinda maybe feel like we're getting to something with Jamie but also like... been burned too many times thinking they'd finally move on from the Britt show and actually start giving the non-Britt women proper storylines. But beyond that, I'm at least interesting to see where they go with it.
