Thank you guys for suggesting Sissy! Definitely one of my favorites of the last few years and way better than I expected. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Fantastic combination of comedy, great acting, gore and loved the twist. That movie alone is worth signing up for Shudder.

    OK now I'm interested.

What'd you think of His House? I was blown away when I watched it early last year. Should revisit it soon.

I am biased (it is my personal favorite franchise out of the big 3), but I think it's worth it. 4 is a solid entry and 5 + 6 go way off the rails in a real bad way but are fun to watch. H20 is a great reset and Resurrection is pretty bad from what I remember.

Gonna check out Smile tonight. Excited based on the mild to strong positive reactions I've seen.

H6 has the lowest critic rating out of the canon on RT... that's actually surprising to me. Could've sworn Resurrection would've taken the cake.

Loved it! Way creepier than I thought it would be and very, very unsettling. Glad I watched it before Sissy though, it was a very tough watch at times due to the ways they relate to past trauma and Sissy was a more light hearted follow up haha

  7. Zombie films aside, I think 5 is pretty easily the hardest to get through. 6 and Resurrection are bad in a fun way! I'd reach for them over H20 most days tbh. That one's just a little too Scream-lite to me.

  8. Planning a Hellraiser/Sissy double-feature Friday night, and if I've got one more in me, The Funhouse.

Begging everyone with Peacock to watch The American Scream because it is the coziest, most wholesome documentary about home haunting ever made. I used to watch it on Netflix all the time, so glad to find it again. A perfect celebration of Halloween.

Barbarian was so fun. The performances from the leads were fucking fantastic. When the score first hit as Tess first goes down the tunnel it made me realize there was never any score before that. I got major chills.

Agreed wholeheartedly with the Castle Freak comparisons. That felt like a really fun pull.

It's on my watchlist. Not sure how I haven't seen it yet, but looking forward to watching it.

Fantastic documentary. I want to set up a home haunt so bad, but I have minimal storage for the off season. Maybe leave it up year-round?

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

yeah I've heard good things about 4 and 20, so bad it's good things about all the rest, I'm sure I'll be entertained either way. I have seen 18 and (unfortunately) Kills, I may or may not burn through them again before Ends

original tonight though. this is my first time seeing it since I watched Black Christmas, I wonder how much of the influence I'll pick up on

6 is also a fun one with the Producer's Cut being a thing.

Can't go wrong with the original. We see it in our local dollar theater each year in mid-October.

Honestly, Peacock has one of the better halloween/horror selections out of the major mainstream streaming services. You would hope so right, with Universal's robust history of horror

Hellraiser is getting good reviews. Still not sure if I’ll watch it because the series is just too macabre. I might watch it for Drew since him and I went to school and were in Bible studies together. Gotta support my hometown.
