dude these Everything Zen progressions are straight up Nirvana. theyre clearly like exclusively influenced by them here. the vocalist is clearly channeling Kurt too albeit a tad less rough around the edges - that verse and the “no sex in your violence”. its how he delivers his vowels. i see they even had Albini do their second album.

All post grunge is a Nirvana rip. Point is Nirvana songs are much much much better. It’s like comparing McDonald’s to a really good burger

Everything Zen fucking rules, but it’s a pretty standard pop song that coulda been by any band Langer and Winstanley produced

This is a cool video about the production of song 2 and the story behind it.

EDIT: Since this is a bad opinions thread, I'll share that I think the song 2 riff is better than teen spirit as far as iconic riffs go. Roast away.

i mean that's insane haha. there's less than a handful of band/artists who have a stronger catalog and/or higher highs

honestly the only OG grunge band i prefer bush to is stone temple pilots.
