Saw bonus tracks and got excited but its just two acoustic tracks. thats ok though I usually enjoy when they do acoustic versions

Bit off topic but I'm not a big fan of acoustic versions of album tracks as bonus tracks I prefer original songs but that's just me being greedy I won't lie

That person should try being a brand new fan and then say yellowcard night

There was so much care put into this album to make it a fitting goodbye to fans. Legitimately offensive to say they "don't care" because they aren't releasing as many singles or giving you an advance stream.

I would actually say they care more than most bands. They've sent out an incredibly small number of advances and sacrificed reviews and buzz so that pretty much everyone can experience the album together, on release day, as it was meant to be experienced.

If I was releasing an album I wouldn't put out more than two songs before release or do an album stream and it would be because I care about the album, ha.

Yeah, I mean, clearly releasing four songs last time didn't do them much good. People just pre-judged the album before it was out.

To be fair to the poster. I think they meant that they don't care about album sales or radio or building hype. I don't think they meant to say that the band doesn't care about their fans

In fact, I'd take it a step further and suggest that maybe they should have only released Rest In Peace.

Finishing my Ocean Avenue listen right now, it really is just an incredible album. The song that really stuck out to me on this listen was Inside Out. Something I might usually gloss over, but it just a great instrumental track and groove.

Idk if it was this thread or the other Yellowcard thread where underrated Yellowcard songs were talked about but I had mentioned those two songs during it. Instrumentally and lyrically some of my favorites.

Very unpopular opinion, but I prefer Lights and Sounds to Ocean Avenue. Love both of them, but L&S is just so unique with it's experimentation and orchestration that I think it's a little better.

Listened to Lights and Sounds today, can't say I agree with the above sentiment. I adore some of these songs and love the risks they took sonically after such a successful album, but there were a handful in my listen today that didn't stand up as well and ultimately hold the album back.

The song I rediscovered on this listen is Sure Thing Falling. Damn, that song is a straight jam. I'm 2/2 on having a lesser known track really jump out to me on these listens so far.

I still can't fully appreciate Lights and Sounds as much as some of you. I always expected it to gain sort of a cult appreciation years later. I just always hoped I'd be part of it. How I Go is still an incredible pop tune for me even to this day though.

I respect that they branched out in a completely different direction after the success of OA, I just don't like the result at all. Lift a Sail to me is a better realization of an attempt to change up their sound.

I've been going through their albums to prepare for the last one and I realized that Ocean Avenue is truly my favorite. I always thought it was Paper Walls but there's a few songs on there that don't do much for me, while basically every song on OA is fantastic. I might actually like Southern Air more than PW now too

Also I know this is a controversial opinion but Lights & Sounds might be better than WYTTSY, I never got that into that album

i love Lights & Sounds so much. 2 Weeks From Twenty is the only song that's straight up bad on that record honestly

also, when/where did they say that the vinyl pressings are going to be delayed? and which variants?
