"I'll Never Give Up On You" is a really good song, but "Fragments From The Decade" is fucking incredible.

listened to this with headphones on for the first time and liked it a lot more. the production is great, congleton smashed it. i still feel like there aren't enough hooks though. really enjoy "foxglove," "pepper" and "i miss strangers"

on headphones this thing wakes. me. up.

Again, another thing I didn’t expect to say about a DCfC LP this late in their career

Unfortunately this album got lost in the Riot Fest weekend flood so I’ll be coming back to it before seeing them on Saturday.

Hearing "Unobstructed Views" on a late-night drive playing really fucking loud in your car is a religious experience.

Top 10 DCFC tune for me.

You must be talking about the Keys and Codes version.

I like Codes and Keys. I've seen people act like it's offensive to the ears but it's probably a mid-tier record by them for me. My least favorites are probably Kintsugi and Something About Airplanes if we're counting it.

Codes and Keys isn’t bad but with how many great albums this band has there’s pretty much no reason I’d ever listen to it

Yeah it was just a big disappointment coming after their 2000's run. It's still pretty cool.

  19. I respect them actually going for something new on it, something they haven't really done again until this new album tbh

    lo mein connoisseur Supporter

I'll take codes and keys any day over Kintsugi. That album sounds like worse versions of everything they've done prior. I went through their discog recently and that was the only one that was an actual chore to get through. Truly the only dud (to me) in their discog though which is impressive

I kinda like kintsugi. It’s a retread but I really like black sun and ghost of Beverly drive.

Kintsugi is still easily their best since Narrow Stairs for me. No Room in Frame is easily my favourite song of the last four albums.

I don’t think I’ve listened to Kintsugi more than 5x in my life—left little impression on me, if at all. It’s the one Death Cab record without a strong identity IMO. I should probably return to it and see if it’s grown on me at all.
