I just can't get over the blueballing that is the last 30 sec of Que Dios. Even just one legit full 4-minute track like that might've changed a lot of holdouts' view of the whole record.

Some of the other stuff is still growing on me, at least.

Guess I’m in the minority, this album isn’t for me. Easily my least favorite TMV.

I wonder if the prog heads would like it more if there were a few interludes of screen doors slamming or clocks ticking ominously lmao

There's some pretty tight songs and awesome moments on this, but as a whole I'm not sure. Really wish they didn't release this as TMV, feels like a totally different band.

I mean I did enjoy that weird shit lol. This album is good too, but it does sort of make me want to go back and relisten to Frances. I think with time I’ll see it having its own identity

I’ll sit through all of it/enjoy it except the beginning of Frances. That fucking clock noise is the worst lmao

  10. I'll have to give it a better listen with my full attention because this didn't really grab me. It's not the stylistic change, which I actually appreciate, that bothered me during my initial listen, but Cedric's vocals here and there. I felt like he sounded a bit shrill at times, or there's some effects on them anytime he sings in falsetto? Idk, but I'll have to get used to it.

  12. My first go through and it didn’t really grab me at all. It just made me want to listen to Deloused or Frances

I'd rather listen to the antemasque album (antemasque gang rise up lol)

  15. Must be it, hopefully this will stop bothering me on subsequent listens.

The middle of this drags a bit but overall very nice, the No Case Gain - The Requisition run is especially nice

Really hard to figure out where this lands in their discography but i will say it’s probably the best mix/master of their career. Sounds great in some decent headphones

Lot of call backs to ATDI/De Loused era lyrically I noticed in the second half. Especially considering Palm Full of Crux is about Jeremy Ward.

Repo men is a lyric too in one of the later songs which is interesting because that’s apparently when Ward found the diary that became the concept for Frances when he was in that profession.

I want to soak in a claw foot tub. Preferably without multicolored defects from Cedric’s past life crimes, though.

I saw one in Barnes and Noble today for like 30 or 40 bucks, try looking there

I'm not a fan of this album unfortunately, I don't mind that they went pop but it's just kind of boring to me, barely any of the songs really stick out

Amazon has it for $24.99 right now.

I finally got around to picking this up and spinning it once last night, and I dig it. No, it's not the same as any of their old albums, but I think once I got past that block mentally that stopped mattering to me.
