I felt the same way too. Like, they'll REALLY work this 2024 story line after he eventually loses the belt...maybe even re-run a version of the "Punk wins the title and leaves the building" kind of moment.

But he's actually been locked up for 5 years at a Mox level contract all along

 

Scrambled Friday Night show thoughts:

- Really wish Smackdown would pick a side with Drew feuding with The Bloodline or Kross. Glad they're at least sending out the babyfaces to give him some backup when he gets ambushed (even if I don't need to see Street Profits fight The Usos for the hundredth time this year).

- If Rampage becomes the "Claudio fights ROH challengers" show then I would be okay with that. Anything to get him televised matches at this point is fine. Not sure if they're going to move him to the main title scene after the tournament or keep him carrying the ROH flag.

 

Just call friday night Ring Of Honor instead lol. I’d be down for that.

 

100% he keeps carrying the ROH flag. He was only brought into AEW proper because Danielson got hurt (he wrestled ZSJ at the PPV...), if not for that, decent odds he would have debuted at Death before Dishonor and just done Rampage/Dark matches to keep the belt going.

I'd add Joe, the Lethal/Dutt/Singh trio, and Mercedes as people we'll probably also basically only see doing ROH-builds going forward. Gotta imagine they run a Final Battle PPV in December and then do a 3-4 PPV/year style thing going forward.

 

I’m genuinely considering making a major move (because Dan moved to NJ) and one of the first things that went through my head was “Does this place have a good indie wrestling company?”

Currently I’m thinking about Pittsburgh and Minneapolis and thankfully both of them tick that box.
