My parents haven't had central air in their house in years...in Florida. They just have window units in the bedrooms. My dad says "i work in a hot kitchen all day so i'm used to it, plus for the money we save on the power bill it's worth it" as i'm literally drenched in sweat while i'm visiting them.

 

I had central AC in my apartment before I moved to Brooklyn, now I'd have to pay a ton for an apartment with it. It's so much nicer, quiet, and works much quicker. Now I feel like I can't even watch the TV or be on work calls with it on because it's hard to hear so I cycle it on and off
