I don’t think Bezos would pay for Musk to bash his latest flagship product.

Elrond treating 20 years like it’s a couple of months and getting confused when Durin didn’t see it that way is such a great piece of storytelling of something that often gets overlooked when dealing with races that have vastly different lifespans
E1 was really good but E2 is blowing me away

Just finished E2 and yeah... liking pretty much everything about this. Nori and Poppy are so much fun together

I do find the score a bit lacking in places. Its generally not bad, but it doesn't have the same epicness of the score from the movies. But all the storylines they've set up are interesting, Super excited to see where this all goes.

Man, that scene with Galadriel at the gates of Valinor was beautiful. Switch to another fantasy series, but I was so mad at Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader for botching the scene at the end of the world (I mean the whole movie was botched, but that was my favorite scene from the book, so) and this scene feels like what that one should've been. So epic in scope and beautiful.

Also how is no one talking about the orc reveal at the end of episode 2? That felt straight out of a horror movie, it ruled. The orcs in the trilogy never felt "scary" in that way, only in the way that they were a threat to the heroes.

Anyone who likes the way the elf lifespan is portrayed in E2 should check out this manga about an elf who out lived her adventuring party.

I've seen very few! It was just a much more tense reveal than anything LOTR related I've seen before.

I’ve thought about this like six times this morning and I just really appreciate this joke.

  16. I didn't pick up on the score overall, but I remember it sounding great during the sequence when they're entering Khazad-dûm.

its nice to have a real orchestral score. and the choral parts are beautiful. some of it may come across a tad understated and by extension generic but i think thats because its mixed lower in most scenes than movies tend to do. im actually a fan of that approach here. and i much appreciate having an orchestral score over what nearly all other shows have been doing.

I do think that companies like Disney and probably I guess Amazon do this thing where they promote its content's "wokeness," however that means, or counts on it, expecting typical conservative reactionary backlash, which then allows said IP hording companies to paint all negative reviews as racist, sexist, homophobic, etc., including my own left wing criticism of what i find to be neo-liberal media representation.
