Very excited for my first Thanksgiving sans family this year. My partner and I are planning a queer little chosen family week in Puerto Vallarta this year.

the few years i was on my own away from family, my thanksgiving consisted of a large pizza from dominos and a 2 liter of cherry coke that started around 2 pm and reheated the leftovers around 8.

Those sneaky windows, you know? Sometimes you’re standing near one, you suddenly slip, try to catch your balance, and then Vladimir Putin shoves you out of it. Never can be too safe.

 

Many years ago, I moved into an apt with my girlfriend at the time and we had no pots or pans or plates or utensils or anything that functioning adults needed to make and eat food on their own. We started getting takeout all of the time while planning to buy all of the stuff when we could afford it. There was a Boston Market right up the street, and I couldn't remember having every gone there before, but I loved the food and it seemed like you got a lot for your money so I started going there. A lot. All of the time.

Approximately 6 months or so later my girlfriend sat me down and was like "okay look, you've gained about 25 lbs, we have now spent a lot of money and bought a full set of everything adults need to cook for themselves and we've never used any of it. Eric, it is time to stop going to Boston Market 2 times a day now."
